I'm a Leeds fan. It was a 50/50 call IMO as the ball was on the floor for 1 frame. In HD terms that's 1/26th of a second. I bed if they went to the VR for all grubber kicks 50% would show separation. It was also obvious that McGuire was going for the kick. That said, I have no problems with the result. The 8 minute period of Wigan dominance after the break won them the game and I thought Finch was a well deserved man of the match. If we play like that though for the next 2 months we will be in with a shout.

All this is due to the ref having the VR and asking him.
If there had not been a VR then it would have been very easy.

The Touch Judge by the incident stood his ground when McGuire went over as he obviously saw the Leeds 6 drop the ball then kick it. It was when Alibert saw the TJ where he was stood and got the reason for it in his earpiece that he went to the VR.

The official nearest the incident saw it as a knock on as did Steve Ganson.
