Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

im sure the people getting paid to market the game at the RFL are on decent enough wages to produce a good quality video/ marketing campaign.

Firstly, you say you'd love to work in RL...Quins RL are looking for a sales and marketing executive....fee free to check out this job.
rlhttp://www.league.quins.co.uk/news/13299.phprl
Next up......getting paid well? I somehow doubt it. I was in discussions with the RFL regarding work in London a few years ago. If I had accepted it, I would have reduced my income by over 2/3rds....as much as a fan as I am of the game and Quins RL.....not a chance.
This is the one thing that gets my goat about Quins RL......if they are going to lose 1.5 million a year, then for gods sake at least spend 10% of those losses on a marketing professional. The job above will pay nothing like 33% of the salary it should....if I had to guess, I reckon 40k tops and for that money.....with the list of tasks in the description, you'd maybe get a professional for 1 day a week

i saw that vacancy, but im not available for the work for another 3 months at least and they told me that it was looking for a more or less direct start.
i understand what youre saying, and to be honest i agree, so i would like to take back my previous statement.
i don't really understand the working world as of yet, so im a little naive, as im just finishing up uni.

Hey.....I'd email them again if I were you and see what the deal is in June. Looking at the number of tasks the successful candidate will be required to do, they may well be looking for either an assistant (20k at a stab) or a replacement by then.
Deadly serious.......Quins RL is the toughest job in sports marketing apart from maybe the head of beach womens Beach volleyball in Iran

Cheers for the tip off Gutterfax! I've been waiting for something like this to come up at Quins for a while

I'm on it Gutterfax.
Thanks for the tip.
If anyone else is considering applying don't bother.
I'm nailed on to get it.
I'll get 14,000 turning up for every fixture in no time with thousands more locked out.
In fact with young Phippsy at the helm Harlequins will have to relocate to 'HQ'.
Expect 82,000 crowds to be the norm from next season.

BTW.......I may be wrong, but this role is advertised on another sports recruitment site with a salary range of 18-20k....I seriously hope that's per month
FFS.........When will the penny drop with the club .....20k is peanuts and will only attract monkeys.....
...which dove-tails nicely back to PHIPPS
