I'd scrap the 40/20 rule on the last tackle. Sometimes this punishes an excellent defensive set as the team in posession has the opportunity to regain the ball, which would not have been possible with poorer defence.

I'd like to see the not breaking from the scrum untill the ball is out enforced, At times it is a joke with the receiver facing all the pack as soon as he gets the ball - physically impossible if they stay bound.

When the ball is kicked dead in goal by the attacking team the current tap on the 20 restart is rubbish, the tap should be from where the kick was from.
This would encourage attacking teams to try kicks through when close to the line and stop 70 yard hoofs down field gaining 50 yards of territory.
IMO we've got enough rules already, a drive to simplify the game would improve it no end.

I would like to see the team who has just scored a try/penalty kick to the team who has just conceded.
Also, I think that if the ball goes forward despite whether the player regains control in mid air, it should be a knock on.

Tried that in the early 90s as a ploy to stop Wigan winning everything. Didn't work then wouldn't work this time.

But is it good play or just a bit of effort? After all if theyre good enough to charge it down and then gather in the ball they get possession. |

im not sure why you would want this?
All that would do is punish the team who rushed to form the scrum and reward the team who wandered over and got their players in place.
Im not sure how the game would benefit? |
