The first time SOC met Leigh, he apologised for not wearing a tie and asked for time to get his head around RL and how it ran. Everyone knew he was a succesful man he was also very humble and because of it drew a lot of respect straight away (compared to that foul mouthed lout up at Barrow).

Since then he and Leigh have had a very good relationship, and you won't find many more happy for the bloke should he take Widnes into SL.

please explain why widnes should have automatic right over fev or anyone who wins the league hands down with or without the way promotion and relegation works iam not trying to be anti widnes or anything just think its not fair the way its done if it was any team promotion should be on winning the league not on merit

Very much so, I would much prefer to see P&R, even the amount of finals we lost in.. They were always fun to go to.. Given we didn't have to play the franchising game im sure the league this year would be very different..

Also on a point Hullkrforever keeps making.. You keep mentioning fev should go up etc.. You of all people should know how the playoffs from the P&R days worked and know fev could win the league hands down, Doesn't mean they should go up.. They still have to beat fax, who imo will win.. And then beat widnes / leigh / sheffield / barrow (not likely).. All Of which were very close games and given a push could go either way..

But we have competed. We are currently in the Play-Off's, having landed 5th. We never got beat by more than 20 points, do you not class that as competing ?

For a point towards a 2009-2011 License, SL Clubs had to end up in 8th place or higher.

We have done that 3 years running in our respective League.

That's being competetive.

No one likes us. We don't care.

I don't give a stuff whether anyone thinks we don't deserve Super League because we've not won the championship. We're having to sing to the RFL's tune. So no amount of crying from the likes of Wakey or HKR supporters will change that or make us believe we don't deserve our shot at Super League. Time some of you pulled your sorry backsides into 2010, P&R is dead. Hopefully the franchise system will weed some of the dross out of SL and enable properly run clubs like ours to prosper.

PS Saddened is a bitter gobe that should be taken about as seriously as Dally Messenger.

In summary

Widnes are the best equipped to get a SL franchise
SOC has played the game really well, and a game is what it is
The RFL look bigger idiots by the minute.

Two years ago most of the posters on this board were saying Widnes were robbed, they do what is asked of them and now that's open to question. Can't do right either way. Best of luck Widnes hope you get the spot you're aiming for!
