I'm an aussie and I feel for them, I watched another bloody sunday twice and they are the sort of team you'd love to stick it up everyone else and come good.
So yeah, I change my Skolars to Doncaster, as they are the real deal.
(ABL is some of the best RL stiit I've ever seen)

Unfortunately I have to agree, even if we both get new grounds one of us if not both will miss out. The rfl have stated that there will be at least one championship team included so unless Salford dont get their new ground it looks like one of us two imo.

Do you really think that Leeds Council give a t"ss about green belt in someone else's back yard, opposite the lane leading down to the proposed new site is a sizable industrial estate incorporating a vosa testing station amongst other large units' with a large amount of hgvs' in and out of the estate both day and night interestingly enough belonging to Leeds Met Council. Imho all they are worried about is losing local business from their own surrounding area the other side of the motorway.

| I'm from Lancs mate, I don't know how much power Leeds council have over the project. I just said this is what I read about it. Do Leeds council have the power to scratch the project? And are they in favour/against it? I want Rugby League teams to have the best facilities around, so I want Wakey to get that cracking looking stadium.

As I have said why would Leeds Met be interested in another Council's green belt, unless the mass complex of industrial units affect local business's from their area, The one over the road is in Oulton they did not complain about the green belt then. Incidentally fwiw the road into the estate at Oulton runs from Leeds Rd to Stanley Rd two main arterial trunk Roads and is often used as a short cut for hgvs' even though it runs through a residetial area no complaints from Leeds met there though.

I don't know the situation over in Yorkshre, but I do know that objections to the retail element of Salford's site by Manchester City Council played a part in the Salford project being called in for public inquiry (although the objection was withdrawn before the actual inquiry took place). It may depend on how the land is designated for use in the unitary development plan.

Cheers. It's got enough people talking though, so it can't be that bad.

Barrow for Super League 2015: |
|
| Quote: Saint Simon "they need to drop (at least) 1 west yorkshire team, IMO. I like the principle of Barrow, Toulouse and Widnes coming in but only Widnes could generate decent crowds realistically'"
As a Barrow fan, I've got to disagree with this. Just look at the last time Barrow played a SL team at home. Last season's Challenge Cup vs Wigan ... official attendance 6,300 sellout (although after a fairly last minute increase in capacity there was more like 8,000 there). This year in the Challenge Cup Widnes were at home to Wigan .... official attendance 5,504.
There wasn't much of a difference between both clubs followings for the NR Cup final last year and Barrow fans far outnumbered Fax fans in the Grand Final last October.
8,000 fans travelled over to Sunderland for the FA Cup match and the same amount went down to Wembley when Barrow AFC played in the FA Trophy Final. My point being that sports fans in the South Cumbria area turn out in large numbers when a top class sporting occasion is on offer.
Super League would mean regular top class sporting occasions.

Would it be as special if it was every other week though? I'd love to see a Barrow team in Super League but I'm not sure the crowds would average as high as the figures you quoted. However you could argue that on that basis Barrow have just as much right to be there as Harlequins, Salford, Wakefield and Huddersfield (taking the cheap season tickets into account).

Sez who? Your proof?
Home League Attendances. (Source - RLFans)
2009
Barrow - 2,280
Fax - 2,325
2010 (so far)
Barrow - 1,823
Fax - 2,326
You can't just quote a one-off cup game as being any sort of indicator of projected attendances.
