Quote: dally messenger "so he did spot them for the storm. thanks
why did the other queensland nrl teams miss talents like slater, smith and inglis, or even folau
why did a club with zero juniors like the roosters sign the guy
because he has the best eye for talent in the business'"
Define spot? Others do it a lot and tell him about them. Do you mean Sully gets invited like others do to footy carnivals etc. etc.
Folau was "spotted" playing in the Aussie U15s champs playing for QLD Schoolboys.
Slater went to trial at Norths Devils for example and played for 2 years before signing for the Storm. The Devils were one of the Storms feeder clubs.
I think you're getting over excited as usual in talking someone up. You name 3 famous players, 1 of whom was already playing at their feeder club and say he has the best eye? Who did he recruit for the Roosters? Jordan Tansey?
This South African Rugby Union player:

Sully may have some people's signatures first. But he didn't always "spot" them. You really should stick to talking about what you know. Foxtel Aussies viewing figures.

<sigh>
the storm arent a queensland team. the broncos and cowboys are. these clubs have better links to players yet didnt rate these kids the storm have spotted
im sure if smith, inglis, slater or folau wouldve preferred to play for the broncos that move to melbourne
the fact the storm can spot these guys that other clubs miss is what im getting at
its why the roosters got him as well!
you can have 3 people watching juniors play RL, and only 1 will see the talent in a billy slater

| Sully got their signatures first. That's it.
Norths Devils were one of Storms feeder clubs. Slater played there anyway.
This is too difficult for you to grasp as it's not about viewing figures.
I'll have to get you a job so you can learn stuff.

If he does come over I think you'll be very suprised.
Graham's been the best prop in SL for years now, and hes still young

seriously the amount of media hype burgess has been getting, i feel sorry for him with the expectation
ellis snuck in under the rader and got used to it. burgess will be expected to star from the get go.
when new players get lots of hype, the first thing that happens is they get bashed by opposite teams

| If he sinks he sinks, he won't though.
My biggest concern is can he match the intensity week after week after week, SLs not exactly like that

| One of them, you can't miss him. Makes an impact regardless.
But Graham's the better prop

| Just when rugby league was getting better again in this country. The Australians conspire to take our good players to make sure that the Aussie dominance in world rugby league continues
Not Really
We’ve got individual rugby league playing talent in the UK that can match that of the best individuals in the NRL. You put Danny McGuire in the Melbourne Storm team and they’ll be a better team for it.
The world club challenge has shown that our top clubs team wise can match up to the top clubs in the NRL team wise.
However it’s the international set up we struggle with. Real Madrid in football are proof of a world class team of individuals can’t always make a good team. Well they can if they gel together.
The Quad nations final we was doing fine until our energy and faith ran out. However the injury to Michael Shenton didn’t help causes either.

Got to laugh at the Mcguire bit. Only thing he can do is support the ball carrier and run. Finch is a far more rounded HB than McG will ever be.
