Thing is though Derwent , the cumbrian clubs always seem to do better than their fellow NL/Championship clubs , partly this could be put down to not having a SL club locally nicking all the best local talent

its not only hkr. most clubs in SL are only in existence because of benevolant chairmen, prepared to underwrite millions each season.

the entire competition is built on very poor foundations. where a few men ultimately underpin the sport. The RFL should monitor this in the same ay they do the salary cap.

in the current climate who knows when one or more of these sugar daddies will pull the plug

dont fall into the rfl trap of thinking superleague will ever compete financially with the premier league. there will be no arab takeover of hull kr to save the day.

clubs spending vastly more than they are bringing in are all on borrowed time imo

(not singling hkr out. same applies to all rugby league clubs)

I was just pointing out that it's not just a Rugby League problem, it's just the nature of how professional sports teams are run these days, rightly or wrongly.

Wakefield - Have not filed accounts and recently faced a winding up order, so it's unlikely theirs will be good. Same with Celtic.

most clubs making losses but it does seem strange to me that clubs in new stadiums can make such big losses

Why ? , the cost of playing in and paying rent to Stadium co's , along with the loss of income because they dont own the stadiums is not sustainable

yeh suppose you are right loss of bar/food takings and advertising money

I know he is. Fifteen years worth would be great but alas it's only eleven so far.

This money is contractual and comes directly from SKY and as far as I am aware is not RFL funding but a simple 14 way split between the 14 members of Superleague and never forms part of the RFL's finances.

Hence the SKY money belongs to the 14 members of SL whoever they are in any particular season - end of. Have Wakefield ever received and monies from RFL central funding? Possibly, as have most clubs in the form of loans and grants, however 15 millions worth
