| Quote: TURFEDOUT "Well its a step in the right direction, because it was 11 last year.
However it is still very poor to have 10 non fed players in a squad.
But what does that say about the rest of the clubs that have 7/8 in their squad? In my opinion that they are not very poor, just poor.
Barring a couple of exceptions(Rhinos...)all clubs have too many non fed players in their squads.
Unfortunately the clubs put club before country and we are no where nearer reducing overseas signings than we were 10 years ago.
I dont have the answers to stop it happening, because the game tried, but clubs broke rank and challenged the quota systems and went looking for exemptions.'"
Leeds have 7 overseas players for next season, saints and cas have 6.

Do you think after 10 straight years in SL a club should be trying to get a mecedonian passport so they can have 11 non fed trained players? This is a decision by your board and JK. This has been their 'plan' for over a year - very disappointing.

In isolation I see no problem, when there are already 4 more overseas players then permitted then no.
Kears, and the boards, job is to get the best available for his side so he/they will do what’s allowed, as will all coaches. The problem lies within the regulations which are so loose it enables situations like this to crop up. The club have lost a lot of British (and Irish) talent in the close season and unfortunately the replacements for those lost have been imports.
The academy lads are not ready bar one or two matches here and there. The short term policy is signing up ready made players (who happen to be antipodeans) while the academy provides more fruitful harvests. This should’ve been done previously but the academy was not given sufficient investment in the past but since Kear has been here a lot of work has gone into the junior ranks and it is only now really starting to bear fruit. Before franchising and a bout of stable league finishes the clubs priority was remaining in SL so all funds were directed towards that.

Happy to have your club running at massive losses and living off a rich benefactor that will not be around that much longer (relatively speaking)??

[I am happy that the club are doing well on a number of fronts. I am sufficiently aware of sport / the arts etc to know that clubs have many sources of funds that may be fickle or who's loss would undermine the whole organisation. I certainly do not worry about such things, it would do me no good and make no difference to the club

[You do not. Some fans think it is shoddy and against the spirit of the rules. Few think it is smart to try and get macedonian passports]

[do not 'blame the regulations'. All the clubs operate with the same rules. You guys want loads of journeymenfrom overseas.]

Nothing to say on having 10 / 11 non fed trained players? No surprise there.

| Maybe Marsden Giant should ring the club and ask for answers.
As 'mere' fans we don't know half of the 'goings on' at the club.
Unless of course its just MG's personal vendetta against anything Wakefield?
One does wonder.
