Super League clubs should be able to afford to pay for the travel of 1 away game per year to Toronto, just as they should be able to afford to find an academy and a reserve grade.

If SL clubs put on their thinking caps, they'd start talking to Air Transat about a special travel package for the club given that Air Transat might be making money on flying over away fans.

You are correct that it will cost clubs, but who actually cares? Fans of top football clubs spend thousands travelling around Europe following their clubs, two trips a year is not much to ask if you can’t afford it that’s tough it’s what life is about, we have to stop this catering for fans who can’t afford to pay & focus on the ones that can & will pay, sorry if sounds cruel but so is life. I personally am excited about a trip to Toronto & if health permitting I will be off. If clubs can’t or the RFL organise block bookings & offset the cost by selling travel to fans then we are lost anyway.

If a full time professional super league club can't afford 1 trip per season to Toronto then man this competition has some serious problems.

How about you look at Catalan and Toulouse travel costs over the season and compare that to 1 single trip to Toronto.

The English based teams have it pretty damn nice compared to what the French clubs have to pay.

The majority of threads on the front page of the VT are those started by fans of Wakey or Leigh or other smaller clubs bemoaning expansion, be that because of the red herring that is away fans not traveling or travelling to Toronto being an expense. Leigh look like they have gone boom or bust, wakefield are living hand to moth, Salford and Widnes are on the brink and I'm the bad guy?
