I think there are 10 because Wigan play Saints on Thursday but that's understandable. I'm sure there are many more people affiliated to our sport from clubs in other divisions and amateur/junior clubs etc.

| You are correct. Lets hope some Wigan and Saints fan make the trip over as well as many more.

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |

| It is worth £20 of anyone's money living in the North West, hope the gesture is well publicised and the place is packed out.

| no problem ...
there's a fund ran by the Manchester Evening News: British Red Cross’ We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.
There you are, conscience clear and you do not have to attend.

| Hopefully some Sale fans, or just general union fans, also get down to the game if they have heard about this offer.

Sale retweeted the message, and I know 2 of their fans who have never been to a RL match who are making the trip tomorrow and probably going to bring another 2 to fill the car.
Hopefully there are lots more and a few from Wigan and St Helens make the trip ( to see what a top 4 side looks like this year )

Agreed. I'd also hope that it has been well publicised enough to get general members of the public from the Manchester area to go and attend. They get to donate to the fund and get an evenings entertainment out of it at the same time. If they don't like the game they can leave at half time no problem. If they do like it, great, stop the full game and think about supporting our great sport in the future. I'd also hope that a number of Saints and Wigan fans will make the short trip to attend. Good look to Salford tonight in getting a big crowd through the gates. How good would it be for them to report that the ground was full. If we weren't playing tonight I know that my family and I would attend. Great gesture MK, I've been quick enough to criticise you in the past, but credit where credit is due and I hope its a success.

| Great gesture, but youve got to again question Salford's long term future when only 4,800 turn up for a freebie that was promoted everywhere and even got a feature on BBC News channel.
I realise fanbases arent built on the back of just a few months good form, but there just doesnt seem to be the fan base there. When Hull and Warrington moved grounds crowds went up massively because there are thousands of 'casual' fans out there already that just werent attending games. In the same way if Bradford ever sort themselves out there are thousands out there to lure back, Salford just seem to be stuck with the same 4-5k core support.

| I think 5000 people donating to such a wonderful cause is a great thing, sometimes there's more to life than attendances in rugby league.

| I thought the crowd was pretty good considering the opposition brought none and most SL fans were watching their own sides. I'm sure that you could have added a few more thousand on there if the game had been the only one played that evening.
