| We had so many references to Crowe's helicopter tonight that I assumed Eddie was going to ask for a ride on Rusty's chopper after the broadcast ended.

| Quote: Biff Tannen "Clarke, O'Connor and Cummins should be punted.Terrible'" Cummins being there isn't a bad idea in principle. If you watch the NFL, they also have a former referees coordinator to help clarify the rules. But the difference is that they only talk to him maybe once or twice a match, whereas Eddie spends an entire Super League match going on and on at Cummins about something that was perfectly obvious after one replay. It's painful to listen to. I'd be happy with a commentary team of Rod Studd, Stevo and Carney/Wells, with John Kear/Paul Cullen/Brian Noble etc, someone with actual knowledge as the fourth man.

| Yes it all got a bit too much tonight. It's one thing hyping a game up and showing the famous faces watching once or twice, it's another to constantly brown nose till it made most feel nauseous.

I actually spat my cup of tea out when Wiggy went on about a shoulder charge, then said he was sick of people going on about them all the time, you couldn't make it up.

| Not surprising really.
Always lots of threads, posts etc about marketing the game and RL has one of the best known faces on the planet, loves the game, promotes the game and is getting slated.
Is it any wonder with such positive attitude as posted on here the game struggles.

Where did Crowe actually get slated this thread, having trouble locating it?
I think the point is, yes make mention of the man and what he's done for Souths even mention other famous faces but it was just a constant stream of referrences all way through the game.
Most of the 'moaning' has been about the standard of commentating hasn't it, maybe that's why the game struggles, who knows.

| Stevo's Ill health this week is a reminder for SKY that he's no spring chicken and they need to start developing someone to take over his role. Eddie should also be retired at the same point. Both have given great service to the game but it's time for a new era now.

| We get what we’re given, have you not seen the RFL Chairman.
Maybe the majority of S.L viewers were in-fact an underground cult dedicated to the inane ramblings of the commentary team.
Perceived as a minority sport, given a subsequent commentary team, could be worse, they could rope in J.J.B, oh the joy.

I found myself thinking I agree with every word you say then you slipped in the name Paul Cullen as a Knowledgeable fourth man, now you have lost all credibility.

| Eddie, Clarke and O'Connor all need to feck right off. I actually like Stevo and think he's good as a colour commentator, shame he is going to retire this year. Eddie often drags him into stupid slanging matches.
If they want more summarises during games then the best ones are Shaun McRae (think he's in Aus now though), Tony Rea, occasionally Barrie Mc, John Kear and although he sometimes drones on, Paul Cullen talks a lot or sense.
