I heard the I.C. gets together in November. Not sure how true this is, so we'll just see. Any increase will be a boost to the game, we should stop the "look at me daddy" attitude and just work with what we get given. Who cares if it's more of less than AFL? Really?

I'd be happy with anything over a $billion. That would be more than enough money to expand the game, increase the cap, make clubs sustainable, improve marketing and triple the money going to jnr and grass roots RL.

Hi guys, I'm new to this messageboard, so will give you some background on me. I'm from Melbourne and love my rugby league, am over here in Leeds in study exchange. Let me tell that the NRL is run by amateurs! We have a moron of a CEO, he has no clue bout how to promote the sport, he is all re-active, knee jerk reactions. The Independent Comission should have been set up last year, but the old dinosaurs in the sport are stopping its progress. Come November 1, I doubt that the IC will be set up, we were promised last year on the opening round of the season the IC would be up and running. The current FTA broadcaster, Ch 9, have raped the sport big time. The GF wasn't even shown in HD, nor was the test match at the start of the year. Ch 9 refuse to show games in HD cause they don't want to spend the money on the technology! They are joke of a network! They delay the games and stretch them out to get more advertisements into the games, they even will go to a commercial break, after the ball has gone dead or there has been an error, go to a commercial break and then come back to the game halfway through a set of six! They don't even show games live into Melbourne (this season it has changed as they started showing Melbourne away games that they pick to broadcast, live into Melbourne). As long as they don't get the rights to show league in Australia again, I'll be a very happy chap!!
