| Alot of jokes will come by with regards to this signing. What people won't be talking about is what a good player Warrington now have. Shame, but his own doing.
Still, Warrington look stronger with him in the team in my opinion.

I can guarantee that Gleeson won't be playing, so maybe Bridge can play there?

They will have an outstanding team. One has to wonder about the legality of it all, but no doubt they will be paying Monaghan more from next season if King retires then.'"
Monaghan (despite doing a foolish act) will be one of the stand out players in SL.
Enjoy him whilst he is here because as soon as he can he will be hopping on QF32 back to the land of plenty never to return.

No Gleeson obviously, so put Bridge in there. But there's also Atkins to think about.

| Don't forget that Vinnie Anderson, Richie Mathers and Kevin Penny all left in September as well and now Hicks.
Vinnie Anderson - Would have been on a decent contract as he joined us from Saints
Richie Mathers - Wouldn't have exactly been on peanuts
Kevin Penny - At the time it would have been a bigger contract to keep other clubs at bay when he was on fire.
Sad to see Hicks retire but he's been a great player for us and left some fantastic memories.

| Our sport is a joke! A complete utter joke!
There is no way whatsoever that Warrington have not payed Hicks off! They now have 2 international centres in Atkins and Bridge fighting for a starting spot.
If Warrington don't win the league with that squad then they need shooting. I hope the likes of Rhys Evans now leave because of limited oppotunities.

Those 3 may have left but Brett Hodgson came in and I don't think he would be playing for peanuts.

| Chris Hicks is nearly 34.
Sure, playing into your 30's is not a major problem in SL but even so... he is no spring Chook is he.

I've got no problem at all with the Hicks salary thing. Monaghan will be on less this season than he will next season no doubt.
The real scandal in this is why Chris Hicks would turn down his latest contract to retire and get nothing? As hinted at by a few above the suspicion is that he has been compensated for losing his contract. Moran has more than enough business interests to make that happen, he could also do it personally. The RFL/SL won't have a chance of finding out what happened and given how amateurish RL in this country is they probably won't even try.
Despite the cap being in place one does have to wonder if the playing field is really as level as they make out. I'm sure an awful lot goes on 'off piste' that we'll only find out about when someone releases an autobiography in the future.
