| I would be more inclined to have a positive reaction if he was a 23yr old world beater who had never played international rugby but I feel we have others who could do a job in that position who are English and he is too old to be making his debut as a non english player IMO

| As said, he's nowhere near good enough to play for England.
Totally embarrassing for the sport.

| geez the rep game has sunk to an all time low! Is this what we have to look forward to under the new England coach?
As said if it was SBW and he'd not represented it would be worth the derision, but for Manu? Pleeeeease!

| I think whats important to remember here is that the England national team are not world beaters with hundreds upon hundreds of rising young players all knocking on the coaches door begging to be given a game.
This guy wont be any worse than the players you have already.
Who knows.. he might even turn out to be better

| I haven't got a problem with him being called in to the squad based on his nationality - this is the nature of 21st century sport. But the simple fact is that back row is perhaps our strongest area with Burgess, Ellis, Westwood, O'loughlin, Tomkins, Sinfield, etc and therefore we don't need Manu, so purely on ability grounds this is a strange one for me.

Much like you it would seem.
We dont have any other 2nd Rowers as good as Manu (at what he does) so in terms of the quality of the squad this is an improvement IMO. Not a fan of players playing for multiple countries but as has already been pointed out the Aussies dont seem to mind doing it so why should we put ourselves at a disadvantage?
I am surprised Manu agreed to play for England though.

| Whilst I don't believe he should be picked saying he isn't good enough is a bigger joke than mcnamaras decision.

Think you would change your mind if you saw him play every week.
Don't agree with him being selected though. It's a farce.

| Could get my head around the reasoning for Fa'asavalu, all his rugby league career in this country, etc.
Manu though seems a good bloke, decent enough player, but sends out all the wrong messages. Why don't we just get all the Aussies in whose grandparents or parents were born over here as well.
Surely second-row is the one position that we should not be importing players in.

| Anybody who says he is not good enough to make the team has clearly not seen many Hull FC games this year, he has been one of our best players and even though he is Tongan, he qualifies to play for England so we may as well play to the rules like every other Rugby League national team does
