another loss for the NRL.
we need more money in the game to stop our players earning double in an inferior sport.

icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.:icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg |

Getting people to attend games for a start and get players to behave properly would be another.
There is no way the sport will attract higher TV and corporate revenues if it continues the way it going

A hard uncompromising stance by clubs over players who play up when they drink would be a start.

| Raising the salary cap and cutting the dross that can't keep up would be the next thing to do! Should be 50% of a clubs income, stuff suburban clubs that rely on chook raffles.

those surburban clubs are what the vast majority of TV fans watch.
without clubs like saints and souths the NRL is f**ked.

a TV deal which pays RL in accordance with its market dominance would see us keep all our players.

What's interesting is that a large % of the TV viewing group is made up of regional viewers. Now these fans probably don't get to games and will have chosen a team to support for a variety of reasons. I'm not sure your theory that people would just turn off RL and their TV's is a reality if one or two Sydney teams went under or moved. It didn't happen in the past so I see little evidence it will happen in the future. I am all for letting clubs die a slow painful natural death as they get left behind, as long as the lowest common denominator isn't holding the rest of the NRL back.
Fuunily enough I think very well run St's and Sth's are two clubs that do have a bright future.

Not sure about Souths. Crowe needs help. If he pulls out. They're on the brink again.

| Same could be said of Manly and Roosters. Souths ahve a strong "brand" have a decent enough supporter base spread across the city and do have a "presence" in the wider public areana. They just need a winning team and a 1/2 decent stadium and I can see them getting 20,000 to games.

| Don't spread this on the Leeds board - some halfwit wanted Leeds to sign him as a centre.
Sad he's going but TBH I think the only way he would have stayed is if Lockyer finished which would have enabled him to get a significant pay rise and play stand off.
BTW I hope Lockyer doesn't hang around for too long - I haven't seen him play a really dominant game all season and for Qld he's become the junior halfback partner by a long way.
