[quote="Saddened":15kig0eg]Pat Richards is poop. A typical, average, run of the mill NRL outside back. Nothing special at all. Like Barrett he is a myth. He is solid enough, he can catch, he can kick goals.[/quote:15kig0eg]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_7958.jpg |

| Hope to see the Central Coast team go ahead. After that there are severall good options, not sure which one would be the best though.....

In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. i agree with the cities and the order they should get a franchise, but i would bring wellington in sooner to capitilise on leagues mini boom in NZ at the moment.
also what are the reds facilities and stadia like? are they NRL standard or is their projects underway to build new/better facilities.

Agree thay have their own Stadium, a basic management structure BUT it will take till 2012 or 2013 to bring the players up to NRL standards. In fact the Club has 'targeted '13 for their entry.

are the majority of the squad from WA? or are they "imports" from NSW and QLD.
I think the NRL should deinitely shore up league in the heartlands with one team in NSW or qld, ideally central coast, but the other team has to be a "true expansion" team from outside the heartland and i think perth is the most likely as its essentially a whole new market for the TV side of it and the expansion of the player pool would be great for the kangaroos but bad for the rest the world. I dont think the NRL is in any position to put a team in Adelaide in the next 4 years, and that should be a longer term aim.

| At the moment the squad is about 70% WA born players. There is some real talent in our junior Reds squad and hopefully by 2013 if we keep on the path we are we could well have at least a couple of local lads in the NRL 1st team squad. Considering the Storm have been in the NRL for 12 years and still no signs of a Vic player we will be well ahead in that regard.
There are about 6-7 WA players in NRL squads at the moment. OOur jnr playing numbers are up 30% which is another positive sign.
Our ground is ok but does need some work. It holds around 19,000 and is 3 sides seating, one side terraced standing. Good news is the Western Force will move into the ground next year and there are plans for a $75mill upgrade that will take capacity to about 24,000 and add a whole load more corporate boxes.
As ishttps://www.vincent.wa.gov.au/cproot/1695/27960/Perth%20%20Oval.JPG" >

Biggest issue we face is finding a big money backer and the fact RL has a relatively small profile here due to no FTA coverage of the game on TV. The pre season trial game drew 10,000 a few weeks ago and I reckon a 15,000 average to start us off isn't impossible.
