| Quote: newgroundb4wakey "Are some on here conveniently forgetting Hocks ability to step opposition players when attacking ? I'm sure he could have avoided the ref if he wanted to.'"
Another thing that seems to get missed is the fact that Hock is 30 year's old. Not that he behaves like a 30 year-old.
This isn't an academy kid that needs a clip around the ear, this is a guy that has had more than one lifeline thrown his way and he has failed to uphold his side of the bargain every time.
If this guy is genuinely this stupid, and the evidence suggests overwhelmingly that he is, then I dread to think what he's going to do with his life after rugby. Perhaps he just needs sectioning in the interests of public safety?

| Quote: Yorkshire_Red "Good on you for not letting the fact that you haven't seen the incident stop you from passing judgement.
I have seen the incident & I'm flabbergasted that time is being wasted on charging him for it. There was a certain try if he could have taken the ball in and his eyes never left the ball until collision was inevitable. Are all players now to be required to check that the referee has not taken up a position in line with their run before they set off?
There, having added my eyewitness account, I'll leave it those of you who didn't see it to seek justice & to punish accordingly.'"
I've seen it. He must have taken 3 steps after play has gone before hitting the ref.
He's got plenty of time to change direction.
He's an idiot. Lucky to not get more.

I think he has gone through at pace, has missed a scoring oppertunity. His brain has boiled and in his head he's just taken it out on the next available body.
It could have been a player, a post, an elephant or a ball boy.
Unfortunatley for Hock then next body was the ref.
Some people have the capacity to think others just react. Hock fits into the react catagory and he's walloped the wrong fella.
If it was a player it would be a shoulder charge off the ball and a penalty/possible one match ban.
Only Hock could shoulder charge a ref. In keeping with the game traditions we always (rightly) penalise contact with the ref of any form.
He's have been better to continue his run and take it out on the hoardings.
Or Cantona kick the Hull Fans in the front row and line up a movie and philosophy career for when his RL career ends.'"
The cantona kick would have been good, I wonder what would have happened in an RL crowd if he did it. I was at the game and never saw it at all. noone round me commented whatsoever, bizarre seeing as though it really does look like one of the most moronic acts you will witness on the pictch

In psychologythis is known as the frontal cortex.
This might help:-
You mean he's thick as 2 short planks?

He's just missed filming for Dumb and Dumber 2 sadly.

Really, really short planks!
At what point do the RFL simply say enough is enough if a player continues to put officials at risk and bring the game in to disrepute?

| Waste of a career. Buckets of talent (the most gifted forward I've ever seen at Wigan) but he's sadly missing the brain to use it.
Salford would be best served trying to get shut. As at Wigan you lose a great individual but the team becomes stronger. In Hocks career we've won the 2010 GF, 2011 CC, and the double in 2013 and he's been involved in......none! All through his own stupidity and greed.

Players get a lot less games and on occasions no ban at all for picking up players and smashing their heads into the ground.

Yes and if Hock had done this to another player he would have gotten a lot less.
But it's (rightly) different if you touch the officials.
Ask Di Canio.

You do actually understand why smashing a referee is, er, different ... don't you?

| A ban for the rest of the season is fair enough for me, he won't be lacing up his boots now until February.

Smashing a referee? How is the official after the massive hit, injured?

Are you being serious? I get it, you're on the wind-up. Nobody could miss the point so spectacularly.
