| Would be nice but I haven't seen any advertising for the game yet which is a bit disapointing. Part of the problem is it is Sth's game so they are responsible for all advertising and marketing. I was shocked to hear how little money out of it the WARL make.
I'd be happy with 18k. Ground holds just under 21k at the moment.

Despite being a Souths game, it will drum up money and interest though won't it. You ain't that far away. Someone has led me to believe that 7 out of the 8 members of the IC have been chosen, so you may not be far away from re-entry (ooooerrr). Though I can't find reports to back this up. If true, announcement within a couple of weeks only.

THE bid team for a second NRL club in Brisbane believe a Perth side is a certainty, but league boss David Gallop has cast the biggest doubts yet on any expansion from 2013.
A spokesman for the consortium seeking to set up a new side in Brisbane, Craig Davison, said his team would be competing for the second spot if the NRL expanded by two teams, with a Western Australian side a certainty to take the first.
"The TV rights being negotiated will, I believe, be pushing a lot for two more teams,'' Davison told ABC radio.
"I believe one of them is looking very likely to be WA and the other one I believe should be Brisbane.
"I believe that WA is a lay down misere, they're in.
"So the issue for us is who's going to get the second gig.''
Gallop refuted the claim, adding delays to the formation of an independent commission to run the game could make it difficult to expand as soon as 2013.

"I'm not sure where Craig got that one from,'' Gallop said.
"At the core of (expansion) is knowing what our revenue is.
"Affordability is the key to expansion and making sure that our existing clubs and our existing players get more money is the starting point.
"It's not impossible for 2013 at this stage, but certainly as the commission continues to take some time, it's difficult to see that.
"But I'm not closing the door on it at this stage.''
Expansion will go hand in hand with the NRL's new broadcast deal after the current arrangement ends at the end of next year.
Broadcasters are thought to be keen on the WA time zone for live telecasts, and on more games featuring Queensland sides.
As well as from Brisbane and WA, bids are expected from the NSW Central Coast, Ipswich in Queensland, central Queensland, Papua New Guinea and Wellington in New Zealand.
The commission would complete negotiations for the new broadcast deal and, despite its formation dragging on longer than expected, Davison said there was still time for new clubs to be ready in time for a 2013 kickoff.
"I can see the commission coming on board in the next four or five weeks,'' he said.
"I can see a decision being made (calling) tenders some time in August and the winners being announced late October.
"We believe the eight commissioners who have been chosen and are about to be announced must be pretty smart guys and can make business decisions reasonably quickly in a matter of weeks, based on getting some understanding of the game from the people around them.''
The eight commissioners were expected to be named as early as this week, and Gallop admitted a major announcement was imminent.
"I think there's a possibility there'll be some announcements fairly shortly,'' he said.

| Great night in Perth for RL last night.
First the WA State side beat the BARLA GB Lions.
Then the Sold Out signs went up on the gates before they opened meaning we had sold over 22k tickets to the game.
Finally over 15,000 hardy souls braved some of the worse rain in memory to watch a great game of old fashioned footy showing the NRL just how committed Perth is to getting a team back in the NRL.
We cannot be denied!

| Next time a game is played over there, make sure both teams are supplied with a set of flippers each.
Reminded me of playing junior footy in the late 70s (fun stuff). Poor kids these days have all their sports cancelled if it drizzles the night before.

| The only way that game could have been more awesome was if the players were caked in mud, and you couldn't tell who was who. Someone turned back the clock lastnihgt.

OK, shame though as it's available online in Oz from Newtown themselves.
Just in case you change your mind...

Gallop was impressed!
WA's tick of approval for NRL side from league boss David Gallop
LOCK in Perth for an NRL licence.
NRL chief David Gallop has given the strongest indication yet that the WA Rugby League will be granted one of two new licences in an expanded 18-team competition.
But Perth rugby league fans may have to wait until 2014 or 2015 to see regular games, with the NRL expected to delay expansion.
Perth underlined its strength when tickets were sold out and 15,371 showed up at nib Stadium, despite shocking conditions, for Friday night's clash between South Sydney and Brisbane.
The game had strong TV ratings in Queensland and NSW, probably the most important piece of the bid jigsaw.
Gallop said new franchises in Queensland and WA would snare a greater television audience for the NRL and, in turn, financially boost the code due to their location.
