| I don't rate Brian Mac, think it's a poor appointment for Leeds, although he is well thought of their after his previous spell with the club. He comes accross all wrong to me when giving interviews and if his team talks are like that then it would not fill me with confidence if I were a Leeds fan. Touch of the Tony Adams about him.

| IIRC, when McDermott was linked to the Bulls job he was a poor coach who would continue the Bulls' decline.
Has he suddenly become a good coach or do the Leeds fans think their head coach is poor?

| We won 8 out of his last 39 games in charge and his overall winning percentage with us was about 38 - he'd make a good no. 2, but he's just not head coach material. I suspect Bradford supporters are going to LOVE the next couple of seasons!

| This is the news we have all been waiting for. Excellent news for the competition and gives a real chance for Hudds, Rovers, Catalans, Salford and the Bulls of finishing in the top four next year.

| It is indicative of english RL that an Australian coach whose greatest achievement was leading Penrith to 5th in 97 and 2000 before being fired and spending the next 9 (yes that is nine) years as an assistant coach gets an opportunity at one of our top clubs and it is a great decision, a safe pair of hands and a likely contributor to that clubs on-going success , Whereas probably the most highly rated young British coach, with a fabulous pedigree as an assistant, who has moved to a very difficult job and did an decent job on a limited budget, excelling in bringing through young British players in an expansion area gets an opportunity at one of our top clubs and it is a terrible decision, the beginning of the end and the start of a decline.

| its not spin really is it. I dont know who will be more successful Royce Simmons or Brian McDermott, What i do know is there is nothing in Royce Simmons background that says he is likely to be a better bet. Yet because he is Australian, his appointment is unquestioned, and Brian being English is derided.
As i say, i dont know who will be more successful, but i do believe McDermott deserves his chance and im happy we have given it to him, he certainly has a better pedigree than Tony Smith did when we gave him a shot, and has more top-level experience than Brian McClennan did when we appointed him, i see no reason he cant be as successful

| Time will tell- he didnt bring any London youth through of note, LMS and Clubb were involved when Tony Rea was there (Mac took LMS backwards)-He ruined O'Callaghans confidence, chased out Kaye who he had brought in from Leeds
My reservations with Mac is his game plan- he is inconsistent, has difficulty with making change in the game, tinkers with the team..... Yes he had a huge challenge at Quins. I genuinly dont think he has the intelligence to be a good coach and have said that during his spell at Quins where im a ST holder- Team effort, aggression and the fitness will be there in abundency- Guile hmmm

| Quote Harrigan="Harrigan"I love all the doom mingers from other clubs.'"
Mingers? How do you know? Are you some weirdo stalker??
Quote Harrigan="Harrigan" Difference between us and the Bulls is that we still have big game players in the squad and the "poor" signing we have made have come in to compliment them. '"
Wait a minute, so you sign poor players just to go around your big name players complimenting them? Is this some sort of new left-field psychological technique? Can't see it myself but you do need to do something I suppose. "Kevin, you're great. No, you're fantastic mate. Yes., really. No, I'm not drunk..." - that sort of thing?
Quote Harrigan="Harrigan"Add to this the quality youth behind them such as {=#FF00FFhere lists random people not currently viewed by Rhinos as good enough for first team, as if everyone should sagely nod and say, oh yes, when most have never heard of 'em}'"
Your point being?
