| I've often wondered if Edwards accociation with the dark side hindered his selection.
Can't argue with his accociation with Wembley though (excluding his assualt on Bradley Clyde obviously...ha ha .)

of course most fans want to see their team at wembley, luckily for us and other fans we have experienced that although losing was bad enough i can't begin to imagine how rovers fans feel today!
ateotd, you just have to accept the ridicule due to yesterdays events.

It was pretty cack, no two ways about it.
Maybe the intensity of the disappointment means it passes quicker, but today I'm just relieved that Briscoe can't run in a sixth. It's over, you pick up the pieces and move on. There's another game next week. And it is just a game.
It also deadens the pain in some ways that I don't think we could have matched Leeds, even if we'd been much closer to our best.
I do wish we'd played better and not broken the widest margin of defeat record by such a margin. I doubt I'll ever see it broken again and I honestly wouldn't want to.

I have no issue with Offiah but Fox should have been honoured.

I am disappointed it wasn't a close game but you are exactly right you deserved to be there and nobody can complain about that, plenty of other fans from other clubs would have been sat in front of the TV yesterday saying wish our team was in the final , but they weren't because they were not good enough to get there.

That was in the days when there wasn't a highly attended Grand Final in the season and when a trip to London was still a very big deal for people.
There have only been 33 higher Challenge Cup Final attendances than yesterday's out of 114.
30 of those 33 were between 1948/49 & 1987/88. The other 3 being 2007, 2008 & 2010.
The last 11 Cup Finals at the Old Wembley had lower attendances (an average of 75.5k).

| The old wembley barely had an 82k capacity ans because of the roofline 75.5k would have looked pretty full comparatively. But 80k is a pretty good effort. More rovers fans than Leeds thpugh apparently.

Barely 82k capacity? Are you sure about that?

Proof that you shouldn't believe everything on Wikipedia.
There was over 100,000 in 1985 as well. Maybe it was reduced to 82,000 in the late 90s though.

Wembley capacity was reduced to about 80,000 in the late 80s. The 100,000 Wembley was when it had terracing.

| Did anyone notice that Nigel Wood looked like he had two people living inside his shirt and jacket? He certainly took up the standing space of two people. The man is enormous.
