Come on Oh wise one . tell us where we are going wrong , lets face it if clubs like yours were better run there would be more money available to help all clubs survive and prosper , fortunatley without the 1.2 million youd be just as bad as the rest of us

In Oldham's defence I would say look at the current England team how many other towns have produced two players that are in the team that do not have a team in SL. Lose Oldham and do you lose the production line which helped produce the likes of Kyle Eastmond and Kevin Sinfield?'"
We don't all feel like that though. Some of us can appreciate your plight, it's only just over a decade ago that we were in a similar position but with alot of hard work from some very dedicated people we survived and look at us now. Stick in there. |

Try these for starters

You're still not getting it are you , that is the whole point , we know we have a great sport , but the clubs dont have
1. the knowledge to sell it to the people of their towns /localities
2. the money to sell it to the people of their towns /localities
The RFL do have some money available , but instead of looking at helping/forcing clubs to build up localised fan bases they will happily supply clubs with money to have F/T staff they dont need or for staff to go looking for ' sugar Daddy ' type investors
No heartland club will be able to pull in the type of investor the RFL want them to quite simply because of franchising , so thats fine , we accept that
So how do these clubs increase their income , the only way is by increasing their fan bases , that takes hard work , staff and money along with organisation , most if not all the clubs dont have enough of any of these things
So the RFL should be helping with this
A ' Roadshow ' type set up travelling to all clubs during the season , with money supplied to that club for free merchandising and to cover free entrance for all at the game that weekend
Getting/forcing all the clubs to start to work together in merchandise /lottery/away travel to increase their current revenue streams
Stopping SL clubs from actively trying to ' poach ' fans from schools in the localities of Championship clubs [ very difficult I know , and will have all the fans of SL clubs saying that why should they , well 1.2 million a year should be the reason '"

An East and West division with play offs makes good sense. Smaller clubs get the benefit of a good following from larger clubs (which in C1 they generally miss out on), and the larger clubs still get games other larger clubs.
Oldham for example will take just as many if not more to Widnes than Sheffield would, whilst York may take more to Halifax than Barrow would.
Every week is full of local derbies which are often a lot more competitive, which can create a bit more regional interest than the currrent format of say Blackpool v York in front of 300.
Get Starbugs 'free away travel' going, local clubs working in partnership with each other, and regional businesses getting more involved with a regional product, and its a winner. '"

Marsdengiant, you do talk a lot of rubbish and you also seem to be asking everyone else for answers to questions, so here's one for you. The Giants have recruited two of the best young players in Cumbria in Sean Lunt from Town and Greg McNally from Haven, so when can we expect the full Giants first team to play a game at both those venues? I mean the first team not the under 18 academy team.
And maybe you could tell us exactly what sort of payments our clubs received for these two excellent recruits? My final question is when do you celebrate your second anniversary of following the Giants?

Now, we have the Sky money and KD's money and it is great. I love it. I intend to enjoy the relative success the Giants are having. If it changes so be it. I won't bleat on here like you do.  |
