Part of the planning consent.
Quote: Bondi_Warrior "Based on what your saying how the hell do they plan on staging the magic weekend there? '"
There are only people on an RL website saying it will be there, nothing confirmed yet.
Quote: Bondi_Warrior "What I dont understand is that the Council own the ground and lease it to Man City for a now fixed fee. So who gets to decide other events'"
MCFC. Soccer trumps everything else.
Quote: Bondi_Warrior "and what money they take from there. '"
MCFC and the concil
Quote: Bondi_Warrior "Are the council taking a fixed fee for other use because if they are it wouldnt matter what event was held there.'"
If they are then they are stupid, one concert can generate millions.

| We got ours last week. Can't wait for the match now. Big bonus that england have made the final. A sell out will make for a fantastic atmosphere. Hopefully that will have a big influence on the match if we get behind our lads and give some grief to the aussies for the whole 80 minutes. Come on England!

| Still baffles me why they persist on holding the final at Elland Road, its not exactly the most modern of stadia is it (has it still got wooden seats in some sections?) Eastlands would of been perfect.

| Because Man City don't want other sports played during the premiership season.

No, it's not. They probably hold it there because a) It's available and b) It's in the heartlands - I'm seriously considering the game with it only been an hour away from Hull, if it was in Manchester (around 2 hours 20) I wouldn't go.

Is magic weekend not moving to May next year? Or did I dream it? When does the premiership season end?

Whilst im not doubting you or others who have said the same I would still like to see where that is said in the planning consent. The only time I have heard of a limit on events is from RL fans yet nobody can point us in the direction to when that has ever been said by Manchester City Council.

Just wouldnt mind seeing in black and white, because the way some people talk on here they know all the ins and outs of the whole set up with Man City and Eastlands, yet have no evidence. All I know is that Manchester City Council own it, though I have no idea who's right it is to allow certain events over the year and how the finances work with regards to the council and Man City. Do we really know it wasnt an option?

Its not really up to them, they didn't want anymore gigs being held there and look where that got them.

Another case of ''If it aint outside of Yorkshire its not bloody worth visiting'' I'd take it you'd travel if it was a Hull game?
