Look at Phipps and then have the gall to tell me that trolls these days are cliched, stupid, unfunny and completely and utterly useless at creating any sort of good wind up.
And without fail they say it's Phipps from the VT I base my opinion on, he's thicker than a whale's knob.'"
10!!!!!
Any more?

- Get rid of Eddie. Stevo CAN be ok in a certain environment, but you just need someone to rein him in. For example (aside from the sexist claims etc etc) Grey and Keys were successful because one was a presenter, and the other an expert. Eddie tries to do both. Get a young, run of the mill Sky Sports news presenter on it and he just asks the questions and starts the debates. Also its a must to have different people commentating from those discussing the game at HT + FT. Its pointless hearing the same views you've heard throughout the game. Also perhaps even take a leaf out of unions book, if anyone caught any of their coverage on ESPN they often had a presenter and a few guests based amonst the crowd before a game, to give a bit more of an atmosphere.
As for Boots n All, it's pointless trying to make it a smart, intellectual programme, there just isn't the personalities to do it with RL in the way they seem to want to. Make it more of a fun programme (like the footie show), have a laugh, and don't have people over analysing every point. Show the tries and big incidents from games, discuss the odd point perhaps and how players are doing, but I find Cullen boring when it's on, and tend to just watch the highlights on youtube instead.

| If you want to be really imaginative in terms of commentators, there are a lot of good TV and radio commentators in Australia who would be miles better than Sky's lot.

don't bite.....if you need to respond, mention St GI being non chokers and the sharks having less fans than Quins. It will then mention someone called Bazza or Barry, ......but it's not him.....then he'll go away because he's ben owned.

| Soccer AM type format but more like Indoor League from the 70's for anyone that remembers it, if not its available on tinterweb.
A pub theme with featured sports, arm wrestling, shove ha'penny, bar billiards, presented by Fred Truman smoking a pipe on the telly.
Give it a watch its classic telly.

| I think the game coverage is pretty good. Eddie and Stevon aren't THAT bad, they just need to keep their opinions to themselves and commentate on the game. It's someone else's job to put their opinion in, and if they can't do that then they need to be replaced. They're supposed to be neutral at the end of the day, but it often comes across that they can only see the positives in one team and negatives in the other. "Good defence by Hull" for example can also come across as "Leeds took the wrong option", or "Poor defence by Hull" can come across as "Fantastic work by Leeds". I never saw the game on Sky on Friday, but my brother was adament that it came across like they were only commentating on Leeds.
I don't see the point in having Boots N All - The Tries AND Boots N All. They're both completely different programmes with the same name. BNA-TT is a highlights package, and BNA is a bit of everything (which is the problem). BNA-TT needs to be the highlights package, and only that. Take the analysis from BNA to BNA-TT and it will be a better all-round package on a Monday Night.
BNA needs to find out what it wants to be, and stop trying to be a bit of everything. It's pretty boring. It needs new faces. A fan show would be brilliant, with guests, etc. Glamourise the game a bit more, rather than make it look old, stale and boring. No offence, but people aren't going to watch the programme in their hundreds of thousands to see uninteresting stories about what Steve McNamara has said to people in Parliament, are they?
And we need more emphasis on the big hits! Try of the week? Nah, BIG HIT OF THE WEEK! Miles more interesting, and you could pack about 10 clips in to the space of one try, so you'd have plenty to choose from. And I miss the old "Hard Man of the Week" segments from Soccer AM's All-Sports Show!

| I'd keep Eddie. You may no like him, but as a voice, he can relay the excitment well. Compare it to when when Bill Arthur commentates and it just sounds like a dull drone.
Eddie's opinions and insights stem from being stuck in a commentary box with that dunderhead Stevo for the last 20 years.
Stevo, whilst I appricate his passion for the sport, doesn't show enough actual know how about the game and its rules imo. I'd like to see him kept, but minimised. Use his personality rather than his (lack of) knowledge to interact with players/coaches off the field and use someone like Jon Wells to do the analysis from the commentary box.
Here's something I'd like to see during the boots'n'all programmes, a bit like when RL players would pop up on the press up competetion on Soccer AM, I'd like to have a little clip each week to demonstrate the physical abilities of our atheletes in a light hearted manner. For instance one week they could go to, say, Warrington and show the guys going all out on the bench press and what weights who could manage. You could also do 100m sprints, rowing, that sort of thing.

| I dont think the features are bad on BNA, its just the dull background that makes me not want to watch it. Having the tries on two programmes incase you miss one programme. There is too much talking in it though, it needs to be broken down to include more features/silly features etc with the chance to be on a leaderboard etc and a look at junior RL/student RL. A live audience would be difficult as it is shot down Middlesex way and i doubt many would travel to stand around for an hour.
The live shows are okay but i agree about having a stand alone presenter with a coach and possibly a player from the next opponent of one of the teams playing have. Looking back to the soccer they used to have Keys fronting it and Tyler and Gray doing the comms. It worked well because we werent hearing the same dull voices over and over. The in game commentary does need to be informative but they need to talk less. Maybe even call them by their first names every so often because we can see the backs of their shirts. Can we also please get rid of the referees microphone until its needed to explain a decision, the constant HOLD! BACK! GO! is annoying. After the game is over the comms (Eddie and Stevo) would have maybe a 2minute round up of the game before leaving it to the very very good analyst Jon Wells and the previous studio.
I also like what they do in soccer aswell where they show players walking towards the camera, RL shows a google image of the player and it isnt exactly a good one either. No doubt the players would love it to show how massive they are plus it adds more of a face to a name.
I would go with this line up:
Super League:
Fraser Dainton/any mildly enthusatic RL Sky Sports person
Jon Wells
Coach of a team (not the constant Noble/McRae etc but an actual coach)
Player of next opposition (surely one of them can string a decent sentence together and give an opinion)
Eddie and Stevo (doing nothing else but commentating on the 80 minutes)
Bill Arthur (doing his usual segments)
BNA:
Eddie and Stevo
Jon Wells
At least 2 guests from journalists to players etc

'" A live audience would be a good call, with a minor bit of participation (predictions etc).
I agree with the features bit, they need to jazz that side up, perhaps with the addition of a silly side of things. I talked about displaying the physical side of our players prowess, but we could show more about what they go through day to day, like their after game routine - and who wouldn't laugh at the thought of them making stevo climb into an ice bath up to his waist, especially when you know the club joker would then pour another bucket over his head? The proffesional rugby league player is one of the most impressive atheletes on the planet, why not show that?

| Please don't have a live audience.
It will effectively kill off any interest in the sport anywhere further south than Warrington.

| Friday night game, Saturday night double header, Sunday night game
get rid of that pillock Stevo
Allow Clarke a maximum of 10 mentions of 'Wigan' and only when it refers to matches involving Wigan, no more of:
Hemmings: 'how well did you think Cats and Hull played in the first half, Phil'
Clarke: 'well, if you look at Wigans game last night'

| the general feeling seems to be that we could do with something like The Footy Show or Soccor AM. i think that could be great people do enjoy that sort of thing, i know many people who have absolutely no interest in girlieball but are still avid watchers of soccor AM. the same is true of the NRL and The Footy Show.

| Get Rabbits Warren and Peter Sterling doing the commentary. Otherwise Sky, imo, cover RL brilliantly. You've got to remember the bad old days when RL got hardly any coverage at all and without Sky would in all probability, be a completely amateur game.
