Last year sky showed the NRL grand final live in their usual format - namely Carney, Wells and Mcrae talking in a studio in the UK up to kick off, with occasional glimpses of what was happening in the stadium and the odd interview. Premier Sports showed it delayed the following day, but with the full Channel 9 build up and coverage.

For those who haven't signed up for PS - www.nrl.livesport.tv seems to be showing the replays of games free now, with just the live games that you need to pay for. The Knights/Dragons and Eels/Broncos games are on there now in full to watch at your leisure.

I've signed up again - just watching the Knights and Dragons game as I type; the picture quality seems to have significantly improved over last season, which is a welcome development.

It was nice to send a tenner to Batley in the sign-up process - that's a good idea.

A downside to Premier Sports - when you Sky+ a game and it goes to extra time, the recording ends before the programme; I don't know the technical reasons, but I do know that I've just missed the end of the game. Most annoying.

This applies for any sporting event on any channel.

The one down side to the website is that you automatically know that it's gone to golden point as there are 3 file to view rather than GP being on the end of the 2nd half.

I dont recall it happening before, but then I dont record any other sports.

Wasn't sure if Sky+ worked off the programme timing, or if there was some kind of code sent by the broadcaster that told it when to start and stop.

Either way, it's a pain in the jacksie.

I recorded the Carling cup final which overran and had no issue with sky sports cutting off the recording.

Got it this morning, pictures massively improved on last year, its as clear as any other channel i got now.

It depends if the EPG is updated. The major channels are so no issue with over running. Tin Pot channel like PS then no chance.

Thought so - I've dropped them an email.

bt vision stops recording a programme when the EPG has it listed to end.....i've missed many a late night boxing or UFC event cos of this...though i've learnt now just to record the following programme to jjust incase it does run over time
