| You also have to take into account that they are 3 well supported clubs missing from this years play offs in Hull FC, Warrington and Bradford (Would certainley attract more then 4000 ffs). There is Catalans who won't bring much support which in play off terms can take upto 1-2000 off an attendance.
Then I would imagine most Saints and Leeds fans are saving for old trafford. In defence of Leeds and Saints they have seen and done this all before, the novelty is probably wearing thin on them.
I agree its worrying to see such low attendances for our end of season showpiece, I reckon the final eliminators will be a different story though.

So tight fisted are those Yorkshire folk that they sold more tickets for their game than the two Saturday games added together
Do you feel a bit stupid now ?

| Out of interest do the SL set the admission prices for play off games? If not and clubs aren't getting the proceeds why don't they set the tickets at 1/2 normal price and rake in some money from the bars and food for a bigger crowd? They don't lose anything as the gate money is going in the SL pot?

| Leeds playoff crowds will, as usual, be down on their regular season attendances but they will still be better than other teams as we've seen this week, especially with the awful attendance at Saints.
The RFL have to realise that Rugby league fans pockets are only so deep. We're not even one pay packet away from the CC final which many will have attended. We're one pay packet away from the Grand Final and one pay packet away from the start of the Four Nations games.
This in the midst of a recession which has seen virtually all clubs suffer a decline in attendances.
Finally. factor in that the games between the top four were rendered fairly meaningless thanks to the new playoff format and Leeds attendance, when viewed in cotext with the rest of the playoff games, was actually pretty good.

Interesting. St George will disagree but then again they had to go away despite being top, while Leeds would still have had a home game next week had they needed it.
I think the RFL has to sell the narrative. I can remember knockout games having a buzz around them. where has that gone? It's not just a RL thing, look at the slow death of the FA cup.

It wasn;t a knock out game though. Both tteams and fans knew they would still be playing next rounds.

Yeah: shame 6/7000 Wigan fans couldn't make it to the DW Stadium tonight...

OK, but the games at Wakey and Wigan were knockout. Meanwhile, we'll see if the knock out element brings any extra to the games at Headingley and KR in a fortnight's time.

Doubt it, they'll all have retreated back under their stones to mutter about forward passes, ball reefing and bent referees - its called a persecution complex in professional circles.

| I think you are being a bit unfair on the Lancs. Out of the 30,000 who attended play-off games at the weekend at least 7 or 8,000 must have been from the wrong side of the hill.

Hull Kr get nothing from this game. Not like a Rovers fan to confuse fact with fantasy....

| Our crowd v Cas was higher than our last eliminator against them in 2002 but our first sub 10,000 crowd for a Super League match in four years.
I was surprised on Friday when I started this thread but been even more surprised since.
I think at the end of the day the matchday prices are too expensive because it seems to me this weekend the die hards have turned out but no one else.
