M4E .........it may be hard to grasp, but over here, RUGBY fans are RUGBY fans....regardless of the code. If the AB's win the RUWC then league fans will applaud.....if the Warriors win the NRL union fans will be delighted......it's only in dally messengers small head that this massive divide exists........

nope.....NZ Sports fans are a fickle lot, but Rugby Union is and always will be the No1 sport in NZ. For more reasons than I can be ar5ed going into, the whole country, if asked, would always say Union was the national sport with cricket and netball ahead of League.
That said...attendances are terrible....and the WRFU had to flex their muscles last week to get a story retracted ![]() rl |

Thats between a Sydney based Rugby Union team and a Rugby Union side from NEW ZEALAND.
The Roosters also play out of the SFS. This weekend they are playing the Tigers at the SFS. Thats 2 Sydney based league teams. Playing each other. In the same city they both come from. The same city that the trolls have us believe is the epicentre for RL. One team was the beaten 2010 grand finalists and the other one has arguably the best five eighth in the world in the side. In a great stadium that holds well over 40,000.
3pm k/o. No excuses for it being a late/early start.
Sunday. No excuses for it being held on a working day.
Weather forecast. Sunny and 25. No excuses for the weather.
The game has been much hyped after the belter of a fixture last year.
[sizeAnything under 25k will be a spectacular fail for this match [/size especially seeing as the trolls on here tell us that RL is so massive in Sydney. [sizeAt the very worst they should equal the Waratahs crowd of over 20,000[/size.
If they can get 18,000 on the central coast for 2 sides that don't even come from there then maybe it's time to back the Bears bid over Perth.

As much as we all love RL I think we can all agree that the popularity of the sport in Sydney has been greatly exaggerated.
With everything going for it the Roosters v the Tigers game couldnt even break the 20.5k barrier.
Epic fail.
It's not as though the game was even showed live on TV, it was on delay on 9.
Yet on Friday the Waratahs got over 20.5k to the SFS (against a side that arent even from the same country) and now we are seeing that over 28,000 went to ANZ to watch the AFL.
These are 2 sports that the trolls are telling us NO ONE follows.
Tragic really.
Sydneys interest in mungoball is clearly nowhere near as popular as people are telling us.
