| Can't you all just learn about social media? Your hashtags will never trend, we just don't have the numbers to do it! They're too specific to games, not to the sport, which is where the problem comes in. I've been saying it for the last year since this stupid idea came up.
#marginmeter trended because it's not specific to a club, it's something in the sport. Phil Clarke trended because it's related to a tv program that over 200k people watch.
You won't get the clubs hashtags trending, it's next to impossible until we get higher audiences.
Just stick to #rugbyleague, #superleague or even mention the club names as proper words, you've got way more chance doing it this way than wasting your time with those awful hashtags.

It wasn't on mine, or the tools I use to track what's trending. I've been doing this for the last year, and none of the hashtags presented in these kind of things have ever trended. Are you sure you weren't narrowed down to a particular location in the UK? Twitter have done this in the past based on geolocation.

'United Kingdom trends' is what my twitter is set to. I always use #rugbyleague even though I'm in Catalonia, but last night I added #SLWidWak.

I remain to be convinced, as mine is the same, yet all last night nothing apart from Phil Clarke and #marginmeter trended. However, in Lancashire and Yorkshire, #SLWidWak did according to the realtime tools I use.

#SLWidWak definitely trended last night on United Kingdom, albeit not for particularly long.
According to TrendsManc, #rugbyleague was also trending in Manchester last night.

Well, it seems that other evidence referred to on here suggests differently. If everyone uses the specific hashtags, and they probably will once they know about them (except for awkward people like you! lol), then there is no reason to believe that we can't have a couple of hashtags trending over the weekend.
I use the official hashtags. It's a good idea. As others have said, it's a pity there wasn't unity over them last season, especially through the playoffs.

Widnes cropped up last night after the game.

You set yourself up as some pariah on social media yet you don't seem to understand that #rugbyleague is extremely unlikely to trend in the same way that #NRL doesn't trend in Australia despite it being used extensively. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, #rugbyleague has been the used tag for RL fans since it started.
You also completely ignore that there are other benefits to using them, they make for a much better and easier following of the game in my opinion. They are such as stupid idea that we have seen them introduced in a number of sports now and not just big sports that are likely to trend.
You're another example of a rugby league fan that cannot simply disagree with something. Some people tend to enjoy using them but some don't, what is the point in being so vitriolic about it.

| 'Manly' and 'Aussies' both trending at the minute, mainly although not totally because of the rugby, it seems.
Most people seem to be using the #WCC hashtag rather than presumably the gametag #WCCLeeMan.
