That's the same in any walk of life. A criminal record makes things that little bit more difficult. If that's a hassle that the clubs want to take on when they recruit players with these sorts of records, that's on them.
It's probably the reason Ryan Bailey was always "injured" when Leeds held warm weather training in Florida.

It’s ‘SATs’. There’s no apostrophe in the plural.

It’s not as simple as that quite a few people who have a criminal record see sport as giving them a second chance to get there behaviour in a better place.
If the tolerance level for criminality in Canada is a lot less than the tolerance level in the UK then it’s a lot of unfair hassle from the Toronto end of things.
We have a similar thing in reverse with the Catalans who can sign up troubled players who can’t get a work permit here in the UK.
If the Catalans have say 3 or 4 players of this type and have to play Toronto in Canada without these players I,m pretty sure they would kick up a stink within the super league framework.

In fairness, Bailey's record of attending cold weather training wasn't a whole lot better.

Bailey was on the Wolfpack roster last year and played only eight games for the club. On May 30, 2017, he refused to provide urine and blood samples for drug testing and he didn't play for Wolfpack for the rest of the 2017 season. His case wasn't resolved until January 2018, and he was canned later that month along with Dave Taylor and Fui Fui after their high jinks at training camp in Portugal.
Bailey's record all-round isn't particularly inspiring.

Only one Barrow player had visa issues on last weekend's visit. According to a Barrow player, they were short due to one visa issue, one ineligible loan player (Pownall), two with work commitments, one banned and nine injuries.
Once again, if your player has a criminal record, start the visa application early and use the professional immigration consultant.

If you have a criminal record, possibly that information is more privy to the person concerned rather than one game in Canada.

That's a good point, but as team coach I'd not be allowing players to fudge it.
Ryan Bailey and Fui Fui didn't get to Canada the first time either, but both managed to get their papers resolved by the second home game.
After Brexit, do you think that having a criminal record will be a problem for players going to France?

| I was talking to club coach about the problems his team faced with the visit to Canada. One of the problems he mentioned is that players with spent convictions have to provide evidence that they are indeed spent. Apparently many have either never had or have lost the documents issued by the courts. As a result they have to go back to the courts to see if they can provide copies and this can take quite some time.

All for the sake of one game.

Toronto have one of the worse disciplinary records in the game, they must sort out there 'own back yard" first. Warrington showed the correct MODEL in there cup game whilst Toronto were out of control and ignored the wrath of the referee.

A "Model Citizen" is someone who obeys the law, is good to their community(s) and sets a good example for other citizens. not only citizens of a city or country.
How many RL players would genuinely fit that mould?

But it's not Toronto is it! It's the airline, presuming they won't get through immigration in Canada. As it will cost the airline in order to get them back to the UK.

| No, it’s the Canadian government and their rules on entry into the country.
