And that is a very dangerous game to play. Damaging to the club's finances as well as getting the fans back's up.

Must admit the powdered egg and milk stout was something I looked forward.
It could be worse there's a superleague team based in France!!!

| I'm really disappointed with this figure tbh, a city the size of Wakey with the popularity of RL and with no other sport or club as competition should be getting 5 figures easy.
I hope they get a new stadium as the city deserve it and I think it would vastly improve attendance as long as it is put in a decent location

Yes, chicken wings and chips is the order of the day in Perpignan.
Not much meat on them and cooked outside in the open air but, Jean doesn't like to talk about such things.
(actually they were ok) but its more Pukka Pies than poulet, in Belle Vue (unless you wine & dine in the Neil Fox suite)
But he doesn't mention that either.

It's difficult though really because Wakefield itself only has a population of about 77k - If you include the wider Wakefield "district" then you get up to about 350k. Unfortunately though, a lot of people from the towns surrounding Wakefield don't really identify with Wakefield, in the same way that someone from say Horseforth would identify with Leeds. Also Cas and Featherstone hoover up a lot of support from the East of the district, Leeds from the North and then we have Batley and Dewsbury over to the West, so we are pretty saturated with proud, famous old clubs round here for people to pick from.

| I understand but still Wakey has a large enough catchment area to draw from. Also it's hardly the entertainment capital of the world other than the westgate run there is nothing else to do in a Friday might/ sat or sun afternoon

What rot. There is plenty to do in Wakefield. There is Harry's Bar for some real ale. There is Merlin's Magic Shop. There is Dinosaur Discovery for the kids. And most important there is the National Coal Mining Museum, which has no equal anywhere else in Britain. I have visited it, and I can assure you that other visitors were saying how lucky the residents of Wakefield are to have such a magnificent attraction located in their community.

Why stop at Harry's bar if you like real ale? The Hop for example is a top night out.
Don't forget the Yorshire sculpture park and the Hepworth is good too.
Some really great open spaces too like Newmillerdam, Sekkar Woods, walton colliery country park (great pub in Walton for a spot of lunch), pugneys and anglers country park. Much nicer than the prostitute and drug addict infested hell hole of roundhay.

No doubt you're trying to be amusing, but the coal mining museum is a top day out.

If you are looking to avoid ladies with loose morals, Newmillerdam is probably not the place to hide.

For tourists maybe. But how many times a year would a Wakefield local be visiting it, especially on a Sunday afternoon instead of the rugby league?

I'll chuck in Sandal Castle and Heath. In fact Wakefield is just about the loveliest place on the planet. You can take in culture, history and stunning views whilst listening to the eerie creak of Rhubarb growing in the dark. Watching. Waiting.
