Haha, must have been a bitter pill to swallow for you yesterday with an attitude like that. It wasn't the Grand Final last week was it? So get over it.

| Glad Saints won, think the whole of rugby league is outside the town of Wigan.
It was an awful spectacle though. Saints - as hard as some worked, as hard as it was with no half backs - were awful! understandably so (not having a pop out of jealousy or owt) but that makes it all the worse that a team with no half backs, no first choice full back and no kicking game can win the SL title. I want next season's final to quickly come to sweep this one under the carpet.
I thought it was bad when Huddersfield had to move their fans into one stand the other week because of the power cut and it appeared that absolutely nobody turned up to a play off game. But I also don't think it's great for our sport having a game that bad to watch in terms of quality (not drama) as the "pinnacle" of our game and season.
The worst Grand Final ever!
Not that Saints fans will care, all that matters to them is that they lifted it. and I'm glad they beat that lot!

| The people who say saints are worst team to finish top and win super league grand final must be a bit brain less, there teams finished below them so what kind of team do u support if saints are that bad ???? the rest of super league must be awful.

Earlier in the season when Saints had a full squad they looked a very good side indeed. They were naturally hampered by so many injuries, including to virtually all the play makers and even 'stand-in' play makers. They have every excuse for any shortcomings last night. Bear in mind also that Sean Wane, now that he has finally agreed to talk about the match ( www.sportinglife.com/rugby-leagu ... t-in-style ) quickly reaches for the 'we were without Mickey Mac ' excuse. I think Saints were down rather more players than that.

Not brainless, it's a sad reality check for the state of our game. Hopefully the new structure can do something about it from next year.
In the Wigan v Wire game last week, Wigan had six and Wire eight players missing from last year's Grand Final and neither strengthened like-for-like (nowhere near it, in fact!) yet we both looked the best two teams in the Play-offs last week by some distance. Saints have had injuries for all of the second half of the season as well. I've not seen Saints play well for months. By rights, we shouldn't be the three highest ranked teams left at the end of the season. What the has everyone else been doing?
Alright Leeds won the Challenge Cup in great scenes at Wembley, but they have been awful in Super League and they strengthened well last Winter; Huddersfield too strenghtened an already League Leaders Shield winning side last Winter...what the did they both do? Wire Wigan and Saints lose Briers Morley Hodgson Carvell Cooper (also missing our captain Westwood and influential Grix throughout the whole play-offs) Tomkins Richards Hansen Mossop Lomax Wilkin Walsh Wheeler...Leeds and Huddersfield strengthen and are nowhere to be seen.
In the NRL if teams like Sydney and Souths lost as many players leaving the club as Wire and Wigan, and Manly lost as many players to injury as Saints, they wouldn't even make the 8! Yet in SL we're remained the top three ranked sides come the end of the season.
How the hell can a team with no half backs and no full back win the whole competition?
As I say, a sad reality check for the state of our game!

| Saints got the trophy, Flower lost the game. Even with 12 Wigan, as much as I hate to say it, were the better side.

| Rugby league fans are a bunch of miserable c.unts. It's a disgrace that a team can finish 5th and win the championship, the team whom finishes top should be champions, Saints then finish top but this is apparently because the competition is so weak. he GF was going to be a one sided walkover there's no point in even playing it, we might as well just give Wigan the trophy now! Saints then go on to win the final against the odds with no play makers after losing so many finals it's retribution for champion players like Wellens and Roby and should be celebrated as a great story for RL. But no, RL fans yet again continue to do RL a disservice. Well done to Saints and the other 16 Wigan players on an enjoyable tough, intense game of RL, and well done to Saints on taking the big prize.

And it's also a preposterous over-simplification. Saints were a very good side for part of this season, so too, Wigan, and Wire had a golden spell in the middle. The League rewards play over 27 rounds, allowing for ups and downs in form. I really hate in when people resort to knocking what is still an exciting sport by any standards. Compare it to the bore-fest and annual procession of London, Manchester and Liverpool in another well-known game.

Wow, such wit, that line hasn't been recycled and applied to pretty every place in the country - Saki would be proud of that one. It's rather sad that a grown man still can't bring himself to include the vowels in the name of a city. Although, coming from a guy that's taken part in racist chanting I shouldn't be surprised.

I forgot how much of an irrelevance people from Leeds are.
