Absolutely outstanding game though. Not a bad sport we have is it.

Give over. The intent may be to slow the game down, but it was very dangerous. I reckon JP will be receiving a nicely worded letter about his technique there.

I didn't either. Clark was just turning to try to get up and play it quick but Peacock still had hold of his leg. Peacock certainly didn't seem to be twisting it himself.

Quote: Cronus "Surely because the knock-on is the first offence? The fact a Cas player touches it next just kills the play?'"

The knock on was the first offence from Castleford, but the ball is still in play. The player who jumped on the ball was always in front of his team mate and made no attempt to get onside. Being offside he had no right to play at the ball and should have meant that Leeds were awarded a penalty for him being offside, rather than just the knock on.

If the Cas player, being offside, had left the ball then Leeds would have been able to start a run with a power play. The fact that the offside player jumped on the ball negated that.

It was a basic reffing error, but it was a huge one considering there was 30 seconds of the game remaining and a penalty would have put Leeds half way to the posts.

Quote: Charlie Sheen "Deserved a red. You can't do that. However, this thread is yet another indication of what a bunch of pu55ies RL fans are. We hear fans go on and on about how the games gone soft, bring back the buff blah blah blah yet whenever anything happens in a game of RL that even slightly resembles "biff" we see a 20 page thread on here with people crying and complaining like kids.

As for he Clark injury, nothing in it.'"

Honestly, this thread has blown up because of [iwho[/i was involved in the headbutting, not the incident itself. Some big daft lad does this and nobody would blink an eye.

If Luis Suarez did it, we'd be reading about it for four or five months.

Are you referring to the Jewitt knock on? If so, it's Clark who runs onto the loose ball and kicks it ahead, but his starting position was from behind Jewitt. No penalty there.

A deliberate head butt by Sinfield, deserves a lengthy ban.

Peacock is and has been an immense player, but he is putting in a lot of cheap shots lately.

theres a few. not all but a few.

It is a little disappointing to see a thread on this, a thread on Kallum Watkins apparently not being as good as he should be, but none on the absolutely wonderful game we have just seen.

If every game we had was like that (momentum changing bit of biff included icon_wink.gif ) we would be the among the biggest sports in the world.

It happened about 30 seconds from the end. Around the half way line. My memory of it was that it was a simple knock on from Cas and a player in front of him just dropped on the ball.

Impossible to defend his actions really. Given his previous exemplary record, and lack of real menace in it, will probably be worthy of a couple of weeks on the sidelines.

As a Leeds fan, there's a couple of ways I can look at this;

1 - As silly as it was, I could be quite proud that the game meant that much to him, that he's snapped in the heat of the moment. Completely out of character, and probably cost Leeds a point, but a sign of passion and desire. And he certainly doesn't owe Leeds a thing, so can be forgiven on this occasion.

2 - I could be quite worried that he's snapped so easily - is it indicative of further frustration? Is something not quite right behind the scenes for him to snap like that?

I'm definitely more compelled to go with option 1, but if it is option 1, I'd have liked to have seen a few fists thrown too for good measure - might aswell make the ban worthwhile by landing a few good shots. Carney got a couple of games for pummelling the Widnes winger earlier this year, I'd rather be missing time for that than a nonsense ineffective half head butt.
