| I actually think JC thinks we are taking the report seriously. Whilst it would be very nice I don't think there isn't a person on this thread, other than the op, who hasn't a little bit of Sodium Chloride gripped between their thumb and index finger.

Both of us are being tongue in cheek. Nothing jealous, we all know Bradford are going through a torrid time but being able to use humour to mask the pain is something we do. Believe me at Salford we have had more than enough practice.'"
Wasn't aimed at you. I also support Salford.

But we will soon. Hold on to your hat my froggy friend.

| The derision poured on Koukash exemplifies the challenge in getting this sport where it deserves to be. There is in fact no reason at all for the sport to ridicule, or worse (as it currently does), block, his ambition. But still we do.
Poor little Salford? Billy Slater? Are you drunk? Don't you realize that Salford is supposed to be a failure in a failing sport? We can't have some rich guy coming in, scaring us with his plans to upset the status quo, showing people what success is, and embarrassing plenty people by showing what can be achieved if you start off by having a clue what you're doing. What were we thinking? Let's just carry on the way we are, who needs success?

Given that handicap [...] I consider it most unlikely that Slater or Williams will move to Salford in 2015.'"
Sportsmen can be motivated by many things - the desire for fame, for winning trophies, for money, et cetera. Some would relish the challenge joining a side that finished 14th in SL in 2013 and helping to transform it back into the glamour club it was in the 1930s and 1970s. The 'handicap' of not being a current powerhouse may just make the challenge more appealing. (Or it may not, but Marwyn has nothing to lose, and plenty to gain, by aiming for the best).

Is the sport ridiculing Koukash? Or just a handful of bitter fans? I think many more have adopted a wait and see attitude because although Koukash has grabbed headlines by saying he'd like to sign the top players (and nothing wrong with grabbing headlines btw), up to now he doesn't seem to have tried too hard to remove the obstacles that would currently prevent him doing so, other than by complaing via the media.

So far I think he's doing it just right, appoint a coach with a proven track record, build a new squad with the players currently available, re-build the supporting infrastructure within the club and start to market the product. As that starts to pay dividends next season, and I'm sure it will, then I think we'll see Dr K begin to push more and more to realise his (and our, that's the long suffering Salford faithful) ambitions.
It's going to be a fun ride - hold on tight!

His name has been bounded about but that was when Wakey were having a fire sale. They are recruiting now which means they can probably afford to keep him.
Name being mentioned on the Scarlet Turkey is Harrison Hansen.

| For anyone interested, Captain Morley is running tonight in the 5.10 at Kempton. Odds of 10/1, a decent e/w shout.

| Koukash is reportedly worth around £600 million.
How awesome is that for RL and Salford!
