The capacity yesterday was, and always was going to be whether Wigan and Saints played there, 9,000.'"
No, the ground was full to capacity in 2005, you can repeat your claim as frequently as you like but the facts are clear. If the capacity was reduced to 9,000 yesterday (I have no knowledge of this), could you explain why?

Wasnt there a temporary stand there (just over 5,000 in capacity) which was being taken down in order to build a permanent stand, thus meaning the capacity yesterday would have been around 9,000?

| I though only poor Crusaders ever had their crowds scrutinised.
FYI, ever since it's creation an 8,500ish crowd has been a pretty consistent attendance. Interestingly though the year Huddersfield won it, when there were only 4,352, the lowest evr. What short memories people have.
The crowds suggest Bloomfield Road is the right size, the right location to create the light hearted party atmosphere, and that people shouldn't start turning their noses up at a decent sized crowd just because they think their e doesn't smell.

Hull FC fans. Save money on expensive new kits by simply strapping a large fake penis to your forehead. It is now clear to all, as to your allegiance.: |

| In Leigh's 2005 Super League season, we had an average attendance well in excess of the numbers we took to Blackpool yesterday.
Why? A lot of people are only attracted to top flight sport. They probably feel that only games against the best teams matter. I don't agree, but it's quite simply the case that these people are not dedicated / crazy enough to be watching lower league rugby.

| Leigh and Halifax have met twice so far this season and averaged 2,500 in both those fixtures.
Yesterday they got 8,820 fans on.
If so it makes it the 2nd highest attendance in the Championship cups history
Considering the difficulties clubs in the Championships currently have getting people though the gate I think that is a fantastic effort to be just 180 people short of capacity by two part time teams playing a match on Live TV.
However, surely the main talking point is the winning try with 41 seconds remaining rather than how many fans attended

| Bizarre thread... Great game great crowd !!
Interestingly I note Huddersfield going about crowds ....
What short memories here is some reminders ....
2002 - 4k to watch the same final we watched yesterday
2009 - biggest club game in the world challenge cup final at the new Wembley stadium wasn't there thousands of empty seats??

| Its seems to have gone very quiet from the Huddersfield end all of a sudden. Perhaps they realise what ar*****es they have made themselves look when statistics are produced

I guess they will just have to console themselves with being one of the top 3 or 4 sides in Superleague instead

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

And one of the top 3/4 most unsustainable clubs as well

I might give you in the four best in terms of on-field results this season, but in what other categories would they be in the "top 3 or 4 SL clubs"?
The ground isn't theirs, the trophy cabinet is inches thick with dust, attendances are mediocre despite slashing ticket prices - none of which points to them being in the same "big club" status as Wigan, Saints, Warrington, Leeds or even Hull FC.

Lets not run Huddersfield down because of a few idiotic comments though,
Not many clubs own thier own ground, nor have a full trophy cabinet.
Thier attendances arent bad (and are rising every year) and as we have already said they
are performing on the field.

| Quote: PHIPPS "So the ground was only half full for a cup final held in Blackpool on a Sunday afternoon between 2 teams who allegedly think they have what it takes to one day be in Superleague.
Pretty poor effort especially as people were claiming it had 'sold out'
Leigh is only about 40 miles from Blackpool and Halifax about 60.
Why the poor crowd?'"
As someone who so clearly is not an RL fan why do you spend so much time posting on an RL fans website?
