I thought the cap was about £150k in C1 and £400k in C proper?

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

| Quote: Roofs "That's the thing though - fantastic history, but we spent 12 years outside the top flight which meant we've basically had to start from scratch with a youth set-up. However we're getting there steadily, and will continue to bring the likes of Kris Welham and Chas I'Anson through.
Meanwhile, we have good home support and a fantastic away following. These, IMO, are two crucial factors to justifying inclusion in SL, not just the RFL wanting a club in because it's 'great for the game'.
er.........127 years, less the 3 just over (well this years over for us) and the 12 missing in the lower leagues......so 112 years in the top flight.
Also, why did you have to start from scratch? I can understand that the other Hull Club may have turned the heads of some youngsters, but surely a youth set up would have been relitively easy and cheap to keep going. I mean, binning the youth set up to justify spending all that time effort and money on getting to superleague ....you're lucky you're not broke

Still meant starting from scratch - young players are only young for so long.
Hull basically had the city's RL talent to themselves for years because they could offer the youngster SL rugby - something we couldn't. But, the tide has started to turn at last.
We're far from broke, that's why our coach has signed a new deal, as have all our players we want to keep (inc the Dream Team Four ). And, you see, if you have a strong following who turn up in numbers each home game and buy plenty of merchandise you can do this (and consequently make the play-offs). However, if you only draw 2000 or 3000 in SL, you're gonna be limited, and hence miss out.
P.S. Ticket sorted for Firday night - nice, traditional RL ground.
P.P.S. For me it's really all about principle.

| Still, we've made the play-offs twice and finished 2nd in the comp, so, even with 3,400 odd averages, it can be done.
As for the Dream Team 4.......well done. It is a little known fact that London players can't make the DT......just look at the leading superleague try scorer for two seasons running in '02 and '03.......Still, at least we got a few quid of Wigan for him before they ruined him
Hope you enjoy your play-off games and I believe that you and Hudds have been the most improved teams this year......if you can keep the debt down and sort the kids out, HKR should be OK for a licence in 2011

Yeah it sure can be done on 3,400 averages...if you have a little back-hand help from the RFL here and there.
Cheers re Dream Team, but you must be joking - the media would surely want as many Quins players as poss in it?!
No progb with debt, our chairman is a very intelligent guy, we're fine. 4 or 5 academy/reserve players are been talked about for big things, so everythings shaping up nicely.

| By the way, if we don't get a licence in 2011 and certain other (less deserving) clubs do, it'll be the biggest travesty in the history of RL.
