If someone in big business has shares in companies they can sell them on the stock market and realise the cash in 24 hours.
TWP are a limited liability company with no assets, allowing Argyle to walk away, and walk away he has, leaving families in the lurch it's disgusting. Same for Ottwa Aces Ltd. another phoney set up with players signing on, BUT now knowing the financial risks they are taking. OK it's an adventure so these lads are taking that chance to swan about as a new wave of transatlantic RL players on an adventure. Anyway their risk, they now know what can happen......
But this has nothing to do with "Expansion" at all it's Perez just mucking about on the fringes of the game here.'"
Obviously if he had the money he would pay the players.
I offer up the only credible reason why and apparently that's rubbish.
Go figure.

1. Go look up all the limited liability businesses that are wound up to the detriment of staff with the mega rich owners walking away still rich. Try Arcadia and Philip Green as an example.
2. Then go and Troll someone else.

Oh course it's rubbish you in their mind would think otherwise but delusional people with delusional dreams,
So what your saying is there is no money in their account who would run a business like that bar for a conman

Not defending the guy or his business acumen but try this: Aussie mining magnate resident in Canada, while head poncho of Potash Company in Brazil.Due to Coronavirus he is prevented from leaving Canada. He is unable to sell shares and is certainly prevented from selling his part of the owned businesses he jointly owns with his friends. His bank accounts have run dry.How do you expect him to free up some money?
I cannot see him continuing in the sport, nor do I see our financially impacted sport continuing attempting to fly out to Canada to play further games.
I don't see Argyle being 100% honest, but cash flow problems are certainly understandable given his,and the current, circumstances.

The players are still not being paid, despite Argyle apparently promising he would pay, "Multiple times".
Greg Worthington noted this and said he has gone out and got a job, and Superleague clubs have organised food hampers for the players and their families.
It's a disgrace, as is all the uncaring trolling the usual suspect and A.N.Other is doing..........

Mr. Worthington's exact quote was "[iWe have been given multiple dates on multiple occasions by David Argylle as to when we will get paid and I have been let down every time"[/i
A reality far removed from the Trolls saying he doesn't have the money.

Of course he has, or can access, the money (in July TWP apparently only needed a £200k loan to see out the season!). He's got bored with his new toy and taken advantage of the pandemic as a convenient excuse to bail out.

Pleased you get the obvious
Daft idea in the first place but he took it all the way. Argyle likes the fun and banter of Rugby League but I am sure he got nothing but the cold shoulder from SL bosses here. Anyway Melbourne Storm is now his destination and I feel he would have jumped ship anyway once that opportunity came along.
But fair's fair, unless I am missing something it was Superleague who decided they would let TWP in. So it's Superleague that look stupid?? It's Superleague that are to blame for this. Perhaps McManus could explain why they took the decision to accept them. The only explanation I have seen is Rimmer wanted them in SL and SL didn't want the middle eights anymore - so a deal was reportedly done.
It's sad all the guff reported now fails to just admit Argyle's lost interest, do those peddling the nonsense about Covid being their downfall or how Argylle has run out of money not have the wherewithall to tell us what really happened rather than just cut and paste SL press releases?

| Forget the Superleagues search for a new club, latest from Bob Hunter.....
"Toronto Wolfpack chairman Bob Hunter is confident of meeting a Super League deadline of August 31 to find new owners for the Canadian club. We are working very hard and aggressively to see if we can present a new owner in the next week to 10 days," "We're still working officially with three different groups but one owner is getting closer to the top.
"We have been asked by Super League to make that presentation, along with a full set of financial supporting documents, to them by the end of this month and we're still focused on that target date. "Super League and the RFL would have to approve the owner and, if we can get over that hurdle, the Super League owners would have to support us coming back into Super League next year.
"I think we can meet the deadline." Hunter says talks are "delicate" but all three bidders have the aim of keeping the club in Toronto. The club received a barrage of bad publicity after players revealed they have not been paid for three months and several have found new clubs, including marquee pair Sonny Bill Williams and Ricky Leutele, but Hunter believes they could be tempted to return under new management. I know that Sonny Bill wants to come back and I think Ricky at the end of the day would like to come back"
What a relief this is.....
