| Come on folks, give the guy a break. He was outstanding in the London team last season, and played a big part in their promotion. He would have been a SL player for the Broncos this season, but family circumstances prevented this. I certainly don't begrudge him a tilt at SL - I reckon he's earned it!

| Heis exempt from the quota as part of the deal when Crusaders went bust. He has not walked out on the Broncos - he was out of contract and didn’t agree the terms offered. Without him Broncos would not be in Super League for 2019. I wish him and his family all the very best

Does that still apply, I thought it was only a short term thing?

So did I, thought it was so they could get a gig after the fall out of the Crusaders. didn't think it was a career exception.

If I remember it correctly, it was a short term exemption for all crusaders players to count off the quota. Similar happened a few years ago when the bulls got into trouble (again!) and our players were allowed to go find alternate employers without counting on the caps.
However, Sammut qualifies for an EU passport (Maltese I believe) making him exempt from the overseas quotas. Perhaps this is still the case

Yeah, that's how I remember it all but Sammut would also count as non-fed trained wouldn't he even with his EU status. Whether it's overseas or Non fed they have to add up to 7, can't remember the split you're allowed of each.

Yep, unless he still gets the exemption from all those years ago, Sammut will be non-fed trained.

He's had a cople already, he was OK at the Bulls and crap at Wakefield - don't wish him any ill will but don't see how he deserves it.

He was OK with us but not really any better than Ben Jeffries who was his backup at the time (2012). He's far too inconsistent for a big club like Wigan. It's like a Dennis Moran signing.

It could be worse Moran was high scoring in SL when Wigan took him from London, JS has been OK in the division below for the past 6 years!

| He was poor v Leigh in the 3 games last season, but then again so was Dec Patton for Rochdale in the game at our place.
Time will tell.....good luck to him.
