When they approached the RFL, the RFL were moving away from licensing. Thats why they didnt consider them. Im not sure who you think i would blame for the disastrous system we have in place other than RFL, the clubs in the lower leagues who pushed for it, and the clubs in SL who voted for it.

Local as in coming through the well financed, well structured academy and youth development system built to provide a pathway for youngsters from youth RL through to Pro RL.

You know that thing that that is absolutely necessary to bring through youngsters and that thing that after 139 years of existence Leigh havent got in place.

sorry, that's a bit desperate. In RL terms, that's no history at all as far as time is concerned. And as far as a rich heritage goes nothing much to write home about either - basically just one long struggle for survival. The vast majority of UK RL fans have no interest at all in any of these teams, no memories of rivalries, nothing. So to expect Canadians to somehow be really getting into this league just doesn't ring true.

That thing we have had in place many times in the past as you well know , either way , an old argument done many times in the past and much discussed on this and other boards

There is a big difference between setting up and investing in a pro pathway to develop youngsters and taking your pick from a strong amateur area to play in a semi pro comp.

Glad to see you are exonerating us from not having an academy , as your post states , if we haven't been playing in a pro comp before , why should we be expected to run a ' pro pathway to develop youngsters ' , much appreciated
