Someone was suggesting Burrow for england. Really? That tiny bloke who'd be lucky to be 5ft? Plays for leeds I think. He either must run the 100m in 11 secs or be the best passer in the game. You really see him tackling Frank Pritchard, Junior Sauu, Vatuvei (NZ left), Capt Mannering, SKD? I cant see a player as small as him being beneficial to a side that needs to stiffen it's defence.'"
Whilst I wouldn't have him playing for England, Burrow is no slouch in defence. He certainly wouldn't be my first pick to run at, I've seen him pick up 110kg props and dump them on their backside.

| Quote: Charlie Sheen "
Wellens
Carney
Gleeson
Senior
Pryce
McGuire
Long
2003/04'"
For me, this backline shows just how thread bare we have been in the backs for the last decade – Wellens has been a top quality Super League player but lacked the pace to be international quality and his slow kick returns have always had GB/England on the back foot at the start of every set
Carney was a good winger but having to put Pryce on the other wing shows the lack of quality we have had there – played out of position and didn’t excel on the wing at all. As for the centres, Gleeson on form was potent in attack but that form was sporadic and Senior is again a solid performer but not going to scare international defences to death
Compare that centre/wing quartet to the one previously posted below from the late 90’s – Offiah, Newlove and Robinson were all world class and Connolly was probably a better centre than Senior in his prime
1: Radlinski
2: Offiah
3: Newlove
4: Connolly
5: Robinson
6: Edwards
7: Goulding
Our current young backs – Tomkins, Briscoe, Watkins, Hall, Jones-Bishop, McGilvary, Broughton etc have some way to go to be in the class of Offiah, Robinson and Newlove but there is every chance they will be better international players than the 2003/04 vintage

It’s terrible when your best centres are not available through retirement isn’t it - Harold Wagstaff has made himself unavailable for England too

| Anyone who hasn't picked Briscoe in their team needs to learn more about the game.
Best British winger by far in SL.

I know he isn't but I don't like J Tomkins at centre. Like someone has said he's experienced in that position.
I'll get called biased but for me, Yeaman & Briscoe on the left and Hall and Bridge on the right. Or if we want a right sided winger playing on the right then McGilvary (spelling).

| Ryan Hall is the best winger in uk. proven not good enough. done nothing this year. don't make me laugh. 106 career tries in 116 games for leeds. 23 tries this season playing in an average Leeds side with no specialist centre inside him. he should be a shoe in for England.
Quote: Ronnie Neale "People are putting these combinations in of centres and wingers but you are forgetting who we have in charge, it's steve mcnamara.
Hall is a certainty. He has played international for years despite being proven not good enough. McBanana will play him despite not really doing anything this season he will we base it on form in the past.
Bridge is a certainty. He has also played previously and therefore McBanana will pick him.
Briscoe will be picked and is the stand out candidate for the other wing and IMO should be playing there.
The other spot could go to anyone, I suspect Mcnamara will play Shenton there because he has played there previously
If you wanted my opinion I'd have

Ryan Hall is a good winger, no doubt about that but Briscoe is significantly better – if Briscoe had played on the left wing for Leeds over the last 3 seasons, he would have had a hatful
