Part of me really REALLY (and I do mean REALLY) wants the NZ Maori to tear England a new one tomorrow morning.
But I must be getting soft in my old age... because I feel kind of sorry for the England supporters.
I genuinely do.
Like or dislike the poms no one could deny that the ones who love rugby league really do love rugby league. Clearly a lot of them feel passionately about the sport and their national side.
Everytime the England side get their árses served up to them by teams like Australia and NZ I laugh out loud. Especially when Billy Slater went the whole length of the field in the 2008 WC in Melbourne before owning the final defender...and still mouthing 'Your shiit mate' at him after he scored...and then Greg Inglis scored immediately from the failed England short kick off restart.
But then I feel bad about it.
I've only been to a few RL games in England but I can honestly say no one I have ever met at any of the fixtures has been anything other than friendly towards me.
All I will say about the England v NZ Maori game tomorrow is that I hope the best team will win.
But no way will I be getting up at stupid O'Clock to watch it
