Quote: Gazemous "
... something socially unacceptable.

What did the Cas fans chant? There are no recorded notes on what was actually chanted from either Gareth Thomas, the RFL or the match commissioner. The only thing I have heard was that the chant was 'we can see you holding hands'...

... I also don't condone the RFL punishing clubs for publicity reasons or them acting hypocritically.... it's amusing to see how many people on here react to it as if the Thomas situation and the inevitable Monaghan situation are in any way different - because they're not.'"

So how much do you think the RFL will dare to fine any club where the fans are singing that well known song that made...

1 in the Australian Singles Chart
1 in the Radio Luxemburg Sheet Music Chart
9 in the UK Singles chart
1 in the US Billboard Magazine?

I think the words start something like "How much is that doggie in the window" and there's a repetitive bit that goes something like "woof woof"?

A lot of us have more things in common with Joel Monohan than we think in terms of animal abuse. In the colder months, a lot of rugby league fans will be taking in flask of tea to keep themselves warm during half time. One of the ingredients of tea is milk and we all know how milk is produced. A poor Cow gets its udder fondled, just so we can squeeze out some white stuff that’ll go in our cereals, milkshakes and more. If I was an animal activist, this would be animal abuse in my eyes because a cow can’t speak up for itself whenever it wants its udder violated. Whilst I’m assuming that a majority (if not none) of rugby league fans don’t engage in milking a cow, but if you’re drinking milk then you’re supporting this kind of activity.

Perhaps the most ironic thing you’ll see all season on the terraces is someone eating a hot dog whilst engaging in a song about Joel’s activity’s with a dog at the same time. Hot dogs come with Sausage’s that were once part of a living animal. Pigs for example spend a lifetime of misery on some damp farm, just so there can become food for us all. I’m not a vegetarian so I can’t hold much of a moral ground on this one, but who’s to decide which one is worse?

Joel Monohan only made one very silly mistake that he’s unlikely to ever repeat again. However they’ll be people on the terraces that’ll keep on encouraging animal cruelty by drinking milk and eating hot dogs amongst other things. Joel is very ashamed of what he’s done and unfortunately he’s going to get crowds of bullies who are going to exploit that. Short minded and hypocritical bullies that are in a way much worse than him in a sense that Joel has stopped what he did. But these bullies will carry on eating their way through any animal that gets served to them on a plate.

In life you make mistakes and it’s up to you to learn from them. I don’t condone what Joel Monohan did, but I don’t condone the way how many of us eat meat as well.

well that wins obscure post of the year (and we are only in January!). Still trying to figure out how you equate carnivore diet and beastiality but I guess you have found a link! As a vegetarian I can say I don't condone either! icon_smile.gif

Animal abuse is animal abuse in my eyes.

It comes in many forms, but I guess because a majority do one thing, it’s more acceptable than something that not many people do.

The point is, people don’t like it when a mirror gets put up in front of them. So they come up with statements like above in an attempt to divert the attention elsewhere. Confronting one person is a lot easier than to confront a group of people. Either way carry this thread on as it was because I was only giving you all something to think about.

No Damo , you havent given us anything to think about , Joel Monagahn has been very silly , done something really stupid , but he has already suffered more embarasment than any RL fan can give him , having to explain to his family has already taken care of that , so yes we as fans will have a bit of entertainment at his expence , I have no doubt he will laugh it off with the rest of us , probably just before he puts in a killer pass or puts the ball down over our try line

From what I can gather he may have had a taster of what's to come at Leigh today.

The leythers are not ones for 'keeping it on a leash'! icon_wink.gif
