There will be around 50 players making regular Transatlantic flights to and from Toronto in S/L and Ottawa in C1 next season and how this will affect them with Covid and the demands on the body from 8 hour flights is yet to be seen.
The RFL and S/L have no thoughts for the players or the organisational skills to run even a p*ss up in a brewery as has just been shown with the ‘suspension’ for two matches of Jackson Hastings.
Despite Catalans getting Covid the RFL will still send teams from England to France so Guasch can start getting some gate money in. Player welfare naw... not at all. If you enter a UK league it’s tough if you have to play in England behind closed doors.
But in all good conscience how can the RFL risk players travelling to France a quarantined country?
The game constantly plumbs new lows... for an oldie like me it’s sad to see...'"
Football teams will travel to France as well in European competition as well as other places. That's just what has to be done to keep sporting competitions running.
Also are we forgetting here that catalan are not the only side with covid cases. The English sides already beat them to it.

How so? Super League isn't the only competition that has long flights.
Look at the Nrl, some teams travelling to and from Townsville in the matter of a few hours.

It’s different Aus is one country next year France will be EU we won’t so there will be passports customs and in Canada Visa’s that you don’t need on an internal Aus flights.
Also potentially three different levels of Covid rules..and quarantine both ways...

Well we agree on the first important point.
Not sure about point 2? Due to covid there could be no flights to Canada next year. The Championship clubs have suggested they don't like the idea of Ottawa playing all their games here, and if TWP did get back it may be back in the Championship as well. All that Canada nonsense may be put to one side

He’s been dropped for not being fit enough? Takes some believing.

| It's worth pointing out that in the NRL, every time a ball goes out of play, another ball must be used that has been sanitised, even the referee can ask for a new ball which has happened !!!
Question, does this happen in our game as per rules set ? Do we carry out this important protocol ? Has anybody seen it happen, has sky commentators spoke of it ?? As per NRL, broadcasting ! Or BBC broadcasting ?

Could explain the number of times play has stopped recently waiting for a ball to come on...in SL

| Player safety is everything, however no-one has made any comparison in terms of the actual risk.
People will continue to give positive tests when the test itself is so flawed that it gives a + for dead organic matter (The South Koreans found this and told WHO who then released this as it has a huge impact on how positive tests should be looked at.
Currently death toll FROM a respiratory disease other than C.19 is FIVE times more, and the C.19 deaths are counted where C.19 is mentioned and not actually the underlying cause of death, the C.19 number also includes all the pneumonia deaths as per the governments edict earlier this year.
Week33/14th August, the death toll WITH C.19 mentioned on the death cert is 139, respiratory deaths as underlying cause of death (so not the same as a death WITH) and excluding all pneumonia deaths is 852, this is England and Wales.
Positive tests as a % of those tested even with that flawed test, show lower positive rate for C.19 than for flu last year at same time of year. 0.55% compared to 0.81% of all tests.
Sure we want players to be safe, but the actual risk, even in Australia (locking down for less than half the death toll of flu was insane) is significantly less than flu than last year and in fact other years as it stands.

Don't knock it. The teacher's unions want to close schools for an illness which has almost zero threat to children.
The virus is no longer the problem. The paranoid fear is our biggest threat. It doesn't help having politicians who are scared to lead and simply pander to mob fear.

I spent a week in hospital with Covid in April and appreciate the damage it can cause. However, the measures now in place are totally disproportionate to the virus we now have.
There are more people now dying from the effects of standard influenza and this will continue to be for ever more, which suggests we are going to be living under constant restrictions, seeing as influenza-caused deaths aren't going away any time soon?

Pleased you got through it but to say that it's not a threat is just bazaar, flu has always been a threat but you find covid is the bigger threat as it's out right now being spread.
Have some thought to the ones that are susceptible to catching it and are more likely to struggle to recover

The death rate from covid is no worse than a standard flu. Like flu, it will claim old people and people who are generally vulnerable to any sort of viruses going around. Like my consultant said in hospital 'its a good job, you aren't fat, because you would be dead now'.
My point is, that while certain people need protecting (mainly because of their own self neglect over their lifetimes), deliberately crippling your own society has been a huge over reaction and will cause far more deaths and misery in the long term than this virus will ever do.

Again you are showing ignorance It's not all about self neglect and being fat, while that is an issue with many my neighbour has leukemia and so far is recovering well, I'm not as serious with rheumatoid arthritis but both of us are on suppressing drugs for our immune system, neither of us are to blame for our conditions and wouldn't wish on our worse enemy
I'll leave it here as your just proving today's society doesn't give toss for anyone other than themselves

And you should rightly be shielding, as I presume you would from any flu virus in any given winter.
Again, the point is, we should not be crippling ourselves and our long term future for what has been a bad flu outbreak, albeit at an unusual time of year from when we usually experience one.
