I'm no expert on this, but isn't the spot fixing issue mainly from Asia. Over here it is very hard to bet on isolated incidents such as yellow cards in football or no balls in cricket. In Asia these markets exist. I can't see RL even registering in Asia and as the above posters say, it's very hard to get in RL to get certain incidents to happen. E.G getting yourself sin binned.

Well if that's the case then I'd suggest that the forum be closed down, since any direct inference to any players could be "liable" i.e. linking rumors/speculation of transfer activites, bans / suspensions etc.

It's shown as a "quote" to denote something that could theroectically happen, and is not a direct accusation against any individual, for any direct situation.

If you think out of the box I am sure certain things could be bet on. First scrum. First penalty First knock on etc etc. it's not all about scores and cards from the ref. If you are the one who kicks off you can easily kick the ball dead from ko. This first penalty. A prop who is often first receiver from ko can knock on.
Equally as each game now has a visible clock you could transgress at a particular time. By saying its difficult to do is potentially denying it can occur.

The Asian market may well be an area that does not know about RL but equally that doesn't mean it wouldn't appeal.
I do agree though that the rewards might not be so great as football but it's all relative at the end of the day.

I think the refs would be the easiest area for this sort of thing.

Footy refs have have been caught doing this sort of thing (although if my memory serves me right Brian Clough was furious that Nottingham Forest got the rough end of an Anderlecht stick due to a ref and there have been a couple in recent years with dodgy pens being awarded with a German ref getting a life ban IIRC). Wonder if our refs could be tempted? Here that the badger's arms in Oldham does a rather good pint for those who could help secure SL status to the town's team.
