This goes no way to deal with the root cause of the issues on this board. What has happened here is what happens all the time - the retaliator gets punished.

Effective moderating stops this happening in the first place - the fact it has come to this is a serious moderating issue that needs addressing in my view. If you want to see proper moderating in action visit the Leeds Rhinos site. This smacks of impetuosity IMO.

You might as well close this board down - i will be just be a "How great is the NRL" place for Dally and JB to post congratulating each other on how clever they both think they are!!

Further clarity is required on the use of other sports - if RL loses/gains a player to another sport is that off limits etc.

The NRL is premier RL comp in the world but it is far from perfect - posters who illustrate its failings should be given the same leeway as those who cannot see its imperfections - sadly the lack of moderating allows unnecessary agitation to go unpunished.

I have no problem with any bagging of the NRL. As you say, it has it's shortcomings and they should be highlighted.

As for this being a bit OTT, im not sure it is. It's all in the AUP somewhere and all i'm now trying to do is enforce the worst broken ones. I'm a pretty laid back guy and feel that you should be able to say what you want but obviously that hasnt worked so we will try this for a bit. As for bans, well I have banned as many people in the last 2 days as I have in the last 2 years so that shows you how much leeway I give.

The reason Gutterfax was sent for a rest was for calling another poster a c*** twice in the same post. Now I like GF but as I explained to him in the PM I sent, that is totally unacceptable and a lot of other mods wouldnt have been as lenient as I was. As for Phipps, he was just trying to wind people up and is on his last legs on the whole board in general anyway.

As for Dally, he does very little wrong in my eyes. Yes, he posts link after link and cant find a bad word to be said about RL but if you dont like that, then ignore him. Starting threads with "Dally free" in the title to me just makes it look like you are trying to start an arguement.

And lastly, the reason that this board doesnt get a heap of views is more to do with the fact that no one on RLFans really cares about the NRL. Obviously the bickering on here doesnt help things but thats why i've decided to get tougher on it. I think aswell that the other codes rubbish made things worse and thats why I have got rid of it.

Liberal use of the C word was bang out of order as was the poll he set up (even though it showed that 65% of the 18 posters on here (16 if you discount Phipps/Kate-Hudds/dally) think the guy is an idiot that drags the board down).
I doubt dally messenger grassed anyone up.......not unless there was a story about the thread on the SMH.CAM.AU website and he sent a link to the moderators
