The question is would he make those tackles against the faster stronger Aussies? if the last WC is anything to go by the answer is a resounding no.

For me Owen has to be selected - we will get hammered anyway so try and build a team for the future

Don't know if that was posted in jest, but's probably the closest thing we've got to an NRL fullback.

Briscoe deserves it after this year, but i'd argue that he is not a long term solution there. Owen could be given a shot, as could Halley.

Briscoe for me as he has been the best British full back this year. I would not want to see players picked out of thier club position. If there are two better half backs than Price he should not get picked in any other position. The only time players should play out of position is during a game to cover an injury or on tour when all other options are out.It is hardly fair on the best in any position to be pushed asside for a name no matter who it is.(In my opinion that is)

Its a lost cause picking any of these players to be honest.


If I was Tony Smith I'd be looking around NRL fullback that qualify via the "Grandparent Rules" and get someone back that that is of decent quality.


By the way those famous grandparent rules give you 11 options to pick and chose which international team you play for.
