| Quote Bondi_Warrior="Bondi_Warrior"Yes the 2000 world cup was a disaster, but then again that was 9 years ago. Alot has changed since then, and after the success of the 2008 WC hopefully alot has been learnt. Whats the point in a World Cup if we only play it in Aus???
Im glad its in the UK and if run properly it could be a success, only time will tell if that happens. At least they now have over 4 years to plan for it.
Gives me a good excuse to head home for a month then
'"
The poms cant organise anything. having the world cup in Britiain is a crazy idea. It will put the reputation of international footy back by years
on behalf of all Aussies when you head home for a month please stay there

You make a good argument there, all the Brits on here ought to read it and make sure to get behind the tournament and see as many games as possible.
That being said, as you acknowledge the 10,000 English fans who went down for the last one had a lot to do with its' success. Could you realistically expect that many to make trip again in 4 years' time?

aww diddums If you dont have anything constructive to say them shut up, your just an idiot and a typical arrogant Aussie.
There is no reason why a world cup in England cant be a success, all we need to do is keep away the influence of the negative narrow minded arrogant Aussies...

Actually yes, there are many English who came down here last year who cant wait to come and i know of many more who didnt come down who would love the opportunity.
Another question is would 10,000 Australian fans ever travel to the UK???

No, for a few reasons.
Firstly, its super expensive for an Aussie to do a tour to the UK.
Second, its the choice between a nice Aussie summer at home or a an English winter.
Last but not least, we have a great NRL season, Origin, we are likely to win the next WC anyway, there is no real drive for us to spend all that time and money to go over in the cold wet weather and sit in poor crowds.

That seems less likely, they must think they know how to attract fans in comparable numbers to 1995 at least.

| Yes, I agree, those super Aussies should host the tournament again. Every game in 2008 was sold out 14 hours before tickets even went on sale. Thousands of desperate Aussies were swapping their homes just for a ticket!! Oh...wait a minute
Australia can balls. If their millions of super loyal fans want to watch the world cup they can either get on a plane, or they can get up at stupid o'clock like we had to last year.
