no, im one of those people who think that a rules are irrelevant compared to the consequence.

Rules are tools used to try and structure a specific consequence, if the rules fail to do that they are worse than pointless, they are counter-productive.

If the game is better served ignoring or changing the rules it puts upon itself, then sticking to them is idiotic.

but the NRL isnt, and wont be separated from the rest of RL in Australasia. What benefit would we gain from splitting SL and the championships (which is what you really mean, there is no issue really in the links between SL and the amateur game, they are in most part pretty good?)

if an event happens and is unstoppable then that event must be allowed to run its co before you can analyse it and then alter the rules accordingly,you cant change the rules when you dont know the outcome.

what outcome? They havent committed themselves to anything. All they have done is change the rules to give them another option.
I doubt they will, i think it is clear the SL chairmen changed these rules not because of Crusaders, but because there are a few others who are worried they too could be affected.

as iv'e said before,SLE should have its own governing body and it should be based in london because its a european league.the rfl should be left to oversee the rest of the sport.

it does, some functions are taken on by SL and some by the RFL, But what benefit would we get from making this split larger?

one of the probable benefits to SLE being based in london and being self govening is this,it cannot be seen as a northern sport anymore,which appears to be the holy grail that everyone is craving.
