Essentially yes, he needs another op, with a 7 month recovery period, but the surgeon isn't available until March as they're overseas. He'd miss the entire season, so a mutual decision has been made for Burgess to leave. Sad way to potentially end his career, this surgery isn't even about getting him to play, it's about letting him have a quality of life in the future.

I'd say it goes to at least 28, but whether some of the "high numbers" are really part of the squad, or just academy lads on their first "promotion" is another matter.

Certainly we can see injury lists that lead to these youngsters getting games, albeit some clubs may prefer a loanee with more experience. If there are no injuries sometimes the SL youngsters get sent out to Championship clubs.

Think he had a couple of decent games for us in the championship (2019) but he wasn't an improvement on the props we already had at that time in Luke Douglas, Tom Spencer, Jake Emmit, Sam Brooks etc.
