That said there is one crucial difference that you've missed in your latest attempt to be outraged on behalf of the Rhinos. Manfredi and Johnstone are both youngish players who are yet to hit their true potential, Watkins has had a brilliant career that has unfortunately ended in a way that he'd rather it hadn't but he still has a sack full of medals and a full career behind him so lets not get too precious.

Surely even you can see the difference and thus its obvious why the two you mention probably got a tad more sympathy

As for full career the guy did his injury just 2 months after his 27 birthday, just because he’s picked up some trophies early that’s not a full career at all, he was only just hitting his prime years and just as much hadn’t yet his true potential as you say about others.

The difference has naff all to do with age, nor should it that’s a dumb reason because if the exact same thing befalls Johnstone on his next return I’m sure you’ll get sections of the RL fan base doing the same thing.

I genuinely don't think we could afford him but i could be wrong. Widdop will take up the second Marquee spot so if Watkins will only move for a marquee wage i doubt we could fit his wage in the salary cap. But as Luther Burrell won't count on the cap next season aswell as this year, we could possibly use Goodwin and Atkins wage on him?
