Leigh are taking about 1200 to Catalans a few weeks after Magic, and we will have about 2000 at Newcastle.
Magic should be based in Manchester with one in 3 on the road so to speak. The way hotels take advantage is wrong and for many Newcastle is not an easy place to get to/from especially when the novelty has worn off.

Why Manchester? Just so those teams on that side of the penines don't have to travel far? For supporters from Hull (Not so much Hull KR this year) Newcastle takes about the same time to get to as Manchester.

Its suppose to promote the game.The occasion/venue should be moved each season.Move it or the event becomes stagnent.Excuses already out for poor attendance before its even began.

Doesn't matter where the event is,just move it annually,or bin it.

I'd rather see a full stadia. Not one game will fill Newcastle and all will see that again..Smaller venue full house,thats marketing,thats promoting the game..

Sheffield United have a similar capacity to Coventry... it's not far from train station or City centre either

Pro's and con's for both points of view. Neither is wrong or right. The biggest problem, I think, as DGM has commented on is that the RFL don't seem to know what they want to achieve out of MW. Until they decide on that it won't move forward as an event

Where is your proof you'll take more - again just made up my dads bigger than yours nonsense. Hell you lot have never even been to a Magic weekend so how do you know who takes what. Even Catalan fans turn up in decent numbers. We have already sold out our allocation whilst I for one will be going on the day all things working out. So I can assure you we will be as well represented as Leigh if not more so.

Stop the boasting will you, you can't back it up and it makes you look stupid. Just get your heads down, forget about trying to be big shots and try and stay up, that's all you should be worried about - not spurious claims as to who's taking more fans to Newcastle ffs.

Few more than that I'm afraid. I get your point and I understand the siege mentality but there has to be an element of humility - that is sadly lacking from some of the billy big who rather vocally thought you'd take SL by storm and now can't accept that they have been made to look chumps.

Unfortunatley we have to encounter this trip to the North East courtesy of previous SL Clubs supporting the venture whose fans we now see showing apprehension towards it.

IF Newcastle wee on the brink of SL, it would be a useful event to promote the game there but, they should keep the event on the move.
Not sure about the logistics and getting back after the later Sunday games would be a pain but, somewhere like Dublin would be something different and with the world cup looming, it may have helped generate some wider interest in the game.
Newcastle has little appeal and the event loses some of its draw by keeping it more "local".

THe Magic weekend really stood out when it was up in Murrayfield or down in Cardiff
If we're not using it to try and expand the game, then, why not use Sheffield or try and break new ground in Stoke or Nottingham ?

It's not animosity it's exasperation - you or a section of you have brought it on yourselves.

Frankly there is no SL club I want to see relegated at present - however Leigh are rapidly becoming the exception, it's sad really but I've never come across a set of fans quite as cocky as you lot but with absolutely nothing to back it up.

It chokes me to say it but I'm quite chuffed for Cas. I'd be just as chuffed for Leigh to stay up if there fans would just shut up - some Cas fans may be getting a bit carried away but then they are producing it on the field so I get the boasting. You lot I just don't get.

I agree though I have enjoyed Newcastle. London would have been the obvious one years ago but that ship has sailed or even the South of France (Toulouse maybe).

Wakey must be doing well to sell out the initial allocation. If they had the same amount as us (Tigers) that's 3,500.
