| Quote wire-quin="wire-quin"What do you believe Leigh crowds will be in SL? 5900 yesterday which isn't bad'"
I was expecting a lot more tbh, with the importance of the game for both clubs, but especially Leigh and their massed ranks, obviously a few more giants fans would have helped but was surprised to see a whole stand empty and unused.
if Huddersfield, Salford or Wakefield had posted that kind of crowd for such a big game there would be calls to kick them out because their crowds are poor.

But is was not a big game. Leigh had 3 opportunities to seal their promotion. Then there was still the fallback of the mpg.
I think most would have anticipated Huddersfield beating leigh so all in all a decent turn out.
Huddersfield were for example were posting numbers like this for their opening game against Wigan after a decent year in 2015.

| Quote meast="meast"congratulations to Leigh, fully deserved, they were superb yesterday and were ruthless, determined and played with aggression, heart, desire and skill.
Well done Leigh, i hope we visit you again next year!'"
Thanks Meast.
As I said to a Giants fan post game, that was a great/almost comeback.
I had been trying to explain to my OH why this comeback was happening, "weekly SL intensity, pace & size in the outside backs, SL levels of fitness & stamina" etc, as opposed to her (6 games per season fan) "why are they doing this again/always do this", "not trying hard enough", "need to knuckle down/wake up" etc.
Really difficult to explain to her & she wouldn't accept my reasoning until I had an ex pat Leyther (lives in Yorkshire) & his fully fledged Yorkshire Son explain it in The Centurion after the game.
I hope you go on to secure SL status for 2017 because when you flow you are an exciting team.
It was nice to see fans from Wire, Wakefield, Wigan & Bradford enjoying a day out of RL.
Best of British.

TBF Salford have posted low 2,000 & sub 2,000 crowds & Wakey have lived on low attendances for a long time.
When almost 2,000 Bradford Bulls fans travelled, we posted [i7,500 ish[/i for an [iAll Championship[/i League match.
We might see a 10 > 15% increase in core fans + bigger numbers of Good Time Charlie's for what I will call the big attractions, Wigan, Wire, Leeds, Saints, Hull FC.

| What has gone wrong at Huddersfield? I guess with the predicament of last years treble winners Leeds, Huddersfield's fall from grace this season has gone largely under the radar.
Last season, they had a chance of winning the LLS in the last game of the season. Mathematically it was a real possibility. This season now they have finished bottom and have lost against the only 2 decent teams they have played in the Middle 8's. They brought in a new coach and it's made no difference.
I know salford are in some sh*t, but the ability of their team is top 8, they just had a points deduction. Hull kr will rally with peacock taking the field.
Huddersfield could well be the ones who finish up getting relegated.

| Quote headhunter="headhunter"=#FF0000Leigh have 1 SL standard player in Paterson, and a bunch of former SL journeymen in their mid to late 30s. I expect they might do a little better than last time they were in SL because of the poor standard of the league compared to then, but they are certs for the MPG next year unless they buy pretty much an entirely new squad.'"
Wow!
He must be bloody brilliant to drag the other 16 "non SL standard" players to 3 wins from 3 against SL teams.
Might whack a tenner on him for Man of Steel 2017!

Should beat it no problem. 3 potential 12k sellouts v Wigan, Warrington and Saints.
If we do well, 7k will be good. If in the bottom 4, around 6k.
Either way, It don't matter. Leigh away support will boost the coffers of existing sl teams too.

| This promotion of Leigh to Super League is the worst decision in the history of Super League, other than the demotion of London and Bradford.
Leigh is a suburb of Wigan, with no train station nearby and hellishly difficult public transport connections. Yes, it draws bigger crowds than Salford, but that is no criterion for promotion. Bradford and London deserve to be back in Super League, and Leigh deserves to be in a better run Championship with the likes of Halifax, Sheffield, Featherstone and Batley.
I look forward to Toulouse decisively defeating Leigh in the Million Pound Game at the end of 2017.
